  • very sturdy
Color: Black
sturdy and easy to assemble and install The side rail was a blessing in my recovery from hip replacement surgery.

  • Perfect for my grandmother
Color: Black
Exactly what my grandmother needed. The pocket is also very useful. She just had spinal surgery and is still a little weak. Not too hard to put together. The adjustable height makes it really convenient as well.

  • We made it great !!
Color: Black
This worked better than the rails on the hospice hospital bed. We made it really solid by zip tying it to the bed frame.

  • Solid bed rail for relatively healthy patients
This bed rail is a good solid option for those that need a little help getting in and out of bed. This was ordered for a patient in otherwise good health that needed abdominal surgery. This was not used for an elderly or infirm patient. This was installed on a king sized sleep number bed. From the floor to the top of the foundation is 13 inches. From the top of the foundation to the top of the mattress is 14 inches. All parts arrived in good working order with nothing missing and no dents or mashed parts. Almost everything needed to assemble this bed rail is provided, including a phillips head screwdriver. The only thing you might need is a drill if you need to drill holes in the bed frame for the included screws. The parts are of good quality. I appreciated the clear instructions. I was able to fully assemble the frame in less than 10 minutes. It will be easy to disassemble for storage after the patient no longer needs it. There is not a storage bag included, but any small duffle bag or box can be used for storage. There is a 1.5 inch wide nylon strap that goes around the bedframe and locks with a standard plastic buckle. A small black screw is included to screw the buckle for extra security to keep the buckle closed after installation. 3 longer screws are included to screw the strap to the foundation for added security. The nylon strap did not work for my installation. The 158-inch long strap was 20 inches too short to go all the way around my foundation. The frame extends 22 inches under the mattress from the edge of the bed. For the intended patient, with the heavy mattress used, this is sufficient to hold the frame steady even without the nylon strap. For this particular set up, the bed rail was adjusted to the lowest setting between the top of the foundation and the floor. The top of the bed rail used by the patient was set to the highest setting. So take note of your measurements. If your mattress is much thicker than 14 inches and/or the top of your foundation is lower than 13 inches, this might not work for you. With this set up, the bed rail extends 6.5 inches above the mattress. This is sufficient for the intended recipient. A bag is included to secure to the bed rail for use by the patient or a caregiver. It is connected by 2 hook & loop straps. It is not meant to hold heavy or thick things. On one side of the bag, there is a zipper pocket with a covering flap behind the mesh pocket. I saw no real benefit to a covering flap or a zipper. Those things make it difficult to retrieve anything in that pocket. The mesh pocket easily holds an iPad mini and a Kindle at the same time. On the other side of the bag, there is a shorter mesh pocket and a smaller flat pocket. There is no zipper here, but curiously, there is a hook & loop flap above the two pockets for no apparent reason. This flap doesn't interfere much with getting things out of those pockets. The bag feels like an afterthought and isn't very useful beyond the one mesh pocket. Regardless on which side of the bed rail you attach the bag (to the caregiver side or to the patient side), you can only really access one side of the storage bag, so just pick what you want. ... show more

  • Bed Rail – Well Made and Sturdy – Good Value
This review is for "Bed Rails for Elderly Adults Safety, ASTM Approved Adjustable Bed Assist Rail for Seniors with Storage Pouch, Widened Support Surface and Secure Legs - Fits Twin, Full, Queen, King Bedsds, Black”. This bed rail looks exactly as shown in the photos in the listing. The instructions for assembly were very clear, and I had no major problems. One part was a very tight fit into another part, and I used a rubber mallet to fit them together. There is a strap that loops through the riser, and then goes under the mattress and, in my case, under the platform. That’s another safety measure that helps anchor the bed riser in place. Installing the strap was the most difficult part of the entire assembly procedure. The strap is 154 inches long, and might not fit some very large (some king size) or very high beds. There’s also a storage pouch which attaches to the rail. It’s small, stiff, and not very user friendly. But it’s far better than nothing. I’m guessing that it’s designed to not interfere with quick access to the bed rail handle. There’s room for medications, for example, but not for water. But also, for a cell phone and a small flashlight. Eyeglasses, maybe a TV remote, or perhaps a small book or Kindle. The rail is very well made and very sturdy. I ordered it for use on a full-size low platform bed. It fit perfectly, but it was close, so be aware of the “Caution” section of this review immediately below. The large part that sticks out, parallel to the floor, has to fit under the mattress. Caution: Be sure to review the measurements detailed on the product page, especially if this bed rail is intended for use on a low platform bed without a boxspring/foundation. I didn’t, and was very lucky that it actually fit the bed appropriately. Similarly, measure carefully before ordering if the bed is very high, or has a very thick boxspring/foundation under the mattress. Based on the specifications given in the product information in the listing the minimum distance required from the floor to the bottom of the mattress is 12.2 inches, and the maximum is 19.3 inches. The bed I used for this rail was 12.5 inches from the floor to the bottom of the mattress, and it was a very close fit. I ordered this to assist a family member get out of bed to a standing position in the mornings. They previously used a cane for this purpose, but this rail is fixed in place, sturdier, and therefore safer. The top of the rail is padded, and not slippery, so it’s easy to get a good grip on it. And keep it. I’m very glad I got this bed rail. It’s high quality and a good value. And is definitely worthwhile for anyone who needs it. This is a five-star product. ... show more

  • Doesn’t fit properly.
Color: Black
The unit was sturdy once attached to the bed but we have adjustable bed frames and we couldn’t position the unit close enough to the head of the bed and still adjust the mattress. As a result the unit was almost in the center of the bed and impeded my wife from getting in and out. The unit would probably be fine on a flat bed frame but this was unclear in the description. ... show more

  • Good for those who need a bit of extra support getting out of bed
This is a good bed rail for a senior or someone who just had a surgery and needed a bit of support. In addition to the adjustable height, sturdy frames, and a storage pouch like most other bed rails on the market, I really like its wide base and reinforced strap because it provides additional security. As other reviews mentioned, this may not work well on certain bed types, such as adjustable beds or beds at heights that don't quite like up with the preset leg extension options. ... show more
