Description

Powered by an industry-first JetPulse system, Sora 70 uses dual water jets that create four water flows to guide floating debris directly into the suction inlet, preventing bypass flow and stopping debris from being pushed away. This helps capture leaves, insects, pollen, and other surface debris more efficiently in fewer passes, reducing cleaning time and delivering consistent cleaning performance. While many pool vacuums stop at platforms, Sora 70 goes further — into shallow-water zones as low as 8 inches. It intelligently identifies platforms and uses ultrasonic sensors and obstacle detection to expertly navigate them without getting stuck. The result is a precise, professional-level clean across every area of your pool — eliminating the need for manual cleaning. When cleaning is complete or the battery runs low, Sora 70 automatically rises to the water surface and navigates to the pool edge — powered by an industry-first, submarine-inspired floating technology. It remains floating at the pool edge, even when the motors stop to conserve battery. Our pool robot cleverly releases internal water to reduce weight — eliminating the need for heavy lifting from deep water. Sora 70 uses SonicSense Obstacle Avoidance, powered by dual ultrasonic sensors first introduced in the Beatbot AquaSense series. It intelligently detects and navigates around common pool obstacles like drains and pool ladders, helping prevent collisions, avoid getting stuck, and deliver uninterrupted cleaning. “The industry's first to perfect surface cleaning. Beatbot leads, others follow. Welcome to the future.” “Beatbot is changing the game. The first to truly master surface cleaning and shallow-Area Cleaning —others are already trying to catch up.” ”This is pool cleaning redefined. Solid performance and a well designed product
Nobody likes cleaning their pool, and if you are like me and don't much want to pay someone else to do it, a robot is a pretty handy assistant. I had a SeaAuto SE for a couple of years, which I was very happy with, but unfortunately, one day it decided to only clean a small circle - the left track motor had died - and of course, it was a couple of months out of warranty and I was unable to source a replacement motor. I opted to try the Beatbot because the product reviews I'd seen for earlier iterations seemed promising, and their guarantee was better. First impressions, it's a boxy looking robot with a glamorous sparkly purple trim, two tracks and two scrubbers. The rather square appearance is explained by the massive waste collecting bucket - more than twice the size of my previous 'bot - and this is a good thing as after all, it's kind of the point of it. Build quality feels good - it's chunky and feels substantial. There's an app and wifi connection, of course - setup was pretty straightforward, though, bluetooth to pass your Wifi credentials across, and then a check for new firmware. There's stats and settings in the app, and you can set up what you want the robot to do when you put it in the pool (there's Pro and Standard modes which are permutations on Floor, Walls and Surface, plus duration.) The most fun part of the app is you can use it to drive the robot around the surface of the pool, it's an extremely challenging, very unstreamlined remote control boat! You don't really need the App, though, there's a switch on the front for Pro or Standard Mode, or you can basically just hurl (sorry, "gently place") the 'bot in the pool and it will just get on with it - it sits on the surface for a few minutes, while it voids the air out, sinks, then wanders around the pool (and up the walls, if chosen). I'm sure there's AI and everything controlling its path, but I couldn't discern a method to its wanderings. Unlike my previous 'bot, which used to breach the surface like a humpback whale, scaring pets and kids, it's very quiet when doing the waterline. It doesn't handle my sundeck, nor was I expecting it to, as it's only 5" deep (I think the minimum depth is 8"?). It did wander up there from time to time, but would always make its way back down to the depths. My pool is sloped with rounded corners and raised filter covers, but none of these caused it any issues or hangups. Once very neat feature is the robot returns to the surface and swims to the side for ease of retrieval - my last bot had to be fished, or rather hooked from the bottom each time (a hook is supplied with the Beatbot, though - presumably the battery could run out). The app will notify you when it's done as well, (it has WiFi, which doesn't work underwater, but as soon as it surfaces, it will make a connection), which is nice. You charge the robot with a plug in adapter - there's no cradle - which seems unnecessarily large, like a car cigarette adapter on steroids, and a light on the 'bot pulses until it's completed. The waste bin is very easy to access and clean, I just play a hose over it for a bit. One feature I didn't think I really needed was surface cleaning, as my small pool has two skimmers - however, watching it at work is actually fun - it's very neat - firing two jets of water out diagonally forward which directs the flow towards the filter - it's like a big aquatic insect. It also does a surprisingly good job - I hadn't realized how must dust and pollen accumulates. Performance-wise, it does a good job - the pool is spotless when it completes and the large bin copes with the surprising amount of debris that can end up in the pool after a storm - it copes with large leaves, palm nuts, stones and small sticks, and the filter is very fine - so tiny particles are also captured. There's an eco mode where it lurks in the pool for a week, doing regular sweeps, but I've not tried that as it would be a tripping hazard in my small pool. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. Pluses are the ease of use, cleaning performance and large bin, and I don't have any real negatives at this point, though it's early days. ... show more

★★★★★ The Sora 70 Has Completely Changed Pool Maintenance for Me!
Color: Navy Blue
**★★★★★ This Is What a Robotic Pool Cleaner SHOULD Be — The Sora 70 Has Completely Changed Pool Maintenance for Me** Every once in a while, I purchase a piece of technology that makes me wonder how I ever managed without it. The Beatbot Sora 70 is quickly becoming one of those products. I purchased the Sora 70 because I wanted something that could take a substantial amount of the physical work out of maintaining my pool. I was intrigued by the technology and AI features, but ultimately I wasn't looking for a novelty or another expensive gadget—I wanted a machine that would actually CLEAN my pool and make owning it easier. The Sora 70 has impressed me tremendously. First, this thing is remarkably comprehensive. It isn't simply a robotic vacuum that wanders around the bottom of the pool picking up whatever happens to cross its path. It is designed to tackle the pool floor, walls, waterline, shallow areas and even debris floating on the water's surface. That last capability was particularly appealing to me because surface debris is usually an entirely separate pool-maintenance chore. Watching the Sora 70 work is actually fascinating. Its SonicSense AI system uses ultrasonic sensing and intelligent navigation rather than simply bouncing aimlessly from one place to another. You can see the machine methodically working its way through the pool, climbing the walls and addressing areas that I would otherwise have to clean manually. And the suction power is no joke. Beatbot rates the Sora 70 at 6,800 GPH, and judging by what ends up inside that enormous 6-liter debris basket, this robot is doing some serious work! The basket is large enough that I don't feel as though I'm constantly babysitting the machine and stopping to empty it. I am equally impressed by the fact that it is completely cordless. There is no long electrical cable trailing across the deck and through the pool. Charge it, put it into the water, select what you want it to do, and let it get to work. That's exactly what I wanted from a modern robotic pool cleaner. The battery capacity is another strong point. The Sora 70 has a 10,000 mAh battery, and its available runtime is substantial enough that this feels like a machine intended to complete a real cleaning job rather than something that needs constant charging and attention. One of my FAVORITE features, however, is something that may sound minor until you actually live with a pool robot: **Smart Water-Surface Parking.** When the Sora 70 finishes cleaning or its battery gets low, it can rise to the surface and make its way to the pool's edge for retrieval. You can also use the app's one-touch retrieval function while it is on the surface. That means I don't have to go hunting for a heavy robot sitting at the bottom of the deep end and somehow drag it up through several feet of water. Whoever thought of this feature understood that convenience shouldn't end when the cleaning cycle does. The Beatbot app adds another level of control as well. I can monitor the robot, choose among its cleaning modes, check battery information and cleaning history, and even remotely navigate it while it is operating on the surface. I also like knowing that the machine can receive software updates rather than being permanently limited to whatever software happened to ship with it. There is another reason I appreciate the Sora 70 so much. I have limited mobility, and maintaining a swimming pool can involve a surprising amount of physical work. Brushing, vacuuming, skimming and repeatedly maneuvering equipment around a pool may be ordinary chores for some people, but they can become genuine obstacles for someone with mobility limitations. The Sora 70 gives me back a degree of independence. Instead of having to depend on someone else every time the pool needs attention, I can put an intelligent machine into the water and let it handle an enormous amount of the work for me. That transforms this from simply an impressive piece of technology into something that has practical value in my everyday life. And THAT is ultimately why I'm giving it five stars. Yes, this is a premium robotic pool cleaner and represents a significant purchase. But I would rather spend money on a well-engineered product that actually reduces the work involved in owning my pool than save money on something that still leaves me doing half the job myself. The Sora 70 feels thoughtfully engineered, powerful and genuinely sophisticated. The combination of cordless operation, strong suction, intelligent navigation, surface cleaning, wall and waterline cleaning, the large debris basket, long battery life and especially that wonderfully convenient surface-parking system makes this one of the most impressive pieces of pool equipment I have owned. If you're considering one because you want to spend less time CLEANING your pool and more time ENJOYING it, I can wholeheartedly say that I am delighted with mine. **Five very enthusiastic stars. The Beatbot Sora 70 isn't just cleaning my pool—it's making my pool easier for me to own and enjoy.** ... show more

Awesome all-purpose pool bot
The Sora 70 is an awesome battery-powered pool robot and the best we’ve tried yet. For everything that it does, it seems like it’s at a good price point compared to the competition, especially during the sales I’ve seen online. We’re so glad that the Sora 70 is our primary pool bot now, though we also loved our first Beatbot (an AquaSense 2) and still use it occasionally to give our pool some extra love after storms or before parties. We’re very comfortable being with Beatbot again because all of our interactions with them have shown they’re an up-and-comer trying to grow the right way with a combo of boundary-pushing tech and focus on the customer. Why battery-powered instead of corded electric: No cord to pull out every time your bot comes out of the water. No cord tangles that keep the bot from reaching the far end of the pool. No power/control module to get dragged into the water by the cord and short out your bot (I plead the 5th). Where the Sora 70 shines: Complex pool shapes - We have a ~20x40 irregular-shaped pool that’s all curves and no straight lines, with a swimout in the deep end and long steps up to a 10’x15’ tanning ledge by the shallow end. All the curves seem to cause challenges for many brands, but our Beatbots haven’t had any trouble getting full coverage on the floors, wall, swimout, and steps. Tanning ledge - The tanning ledge was the first place the Sora 70 showed us it lives on another level. Much as we love our first Beatbot, the AS2, it wouldn’t even go on to the tanning ledge to clean it, so I’d have to run a net across it and/or brush it off myself. Same story with our first robot, a corded electric one from Pentair/Dolphin. But the Sora 70 handles our tanning ledge like a champ as long as I set my auto-fill to maintain at least 7-1/2” depth. The manual says 8” or higher is required for ledges, but “unofficially” our Sora 70 has consistently cleaned the ledge if the water doesn’t drop below 7-1/2”. I wish it would work in shallower water, because my built-in skimmers work best when the ledge is about 6” deep, but this is a decent compromise we can live with because we also use a solar skimmer bot around the clock. Huge basket - Another great advantage the Sora 70 has for us is its gigantic, I mean cavernous, basket. It’s got to be at least twice as big as the one in our AS2. I think the product lit said the basket holds 6 liters! We live in the Southeast U.S. with huge oaks in our neighbors’ yards, so our pool collects insane amounts of pollen in the spring, leaves in the fall, and twigs and other debris every time the wind kicks up. During peak season, our AS2’s basket often filled up before it finished clearing off the bottom of the pool, while the Sora 70’s basket hasn’t filled up early even once. Easy cleaning - An underrated bonus feature of the Sora 70’s basket is how easy it is to clean out compared to our past bots. If you’ve ever had a robot that forces you to hold the basket upside down with one hand while you spray all the junk out with your other hand and angle the basket just right to keep a flap or inlet door out of the way, you’ll appreciate that this one couldn’t be simpler and faster to clean. I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than five seconds spraying it out. It also has a tiny inner backup basket that seems like a great idea to protect your investment. It needs to be checked once in a while but rarely has more than a few specks on it. Surface skimming – It’s pretty cool that this bot can clean the floors, walls, etc. and then rise back up out of the water and scoot around the surface with propellers to suck up the little floaters. Like a tiny James Bond car from Q’s lab. I was skeptical that we’d use the surface skimming mode very often because we already use a solar skimmer bot that roams the pool 24/7 and does a great job. But we’ve found it’s super handy that the Sora 70 can also do this when you’re short on time to get a clean surface, like right before a party. Beatbot recommends using only one bot at a time, but we run the Sora 70 and our solar skimmer together and they coexist great, at least for the limited time they’re on the surface together. App control and cleaning modes – I love that the app lets you choose whether the Sora 70 should focus on the just the floor, just the surface, the floor and walls, or all three. You can also set the length of the cleaning cycle to 2 hours, 3 hours, or until the battery runs out. And when your bot is floating, you can tell it to park against the wall or drive it where you want it to be with a directional pad in the app (very slowly but it’s pretty sweet). Vacation mode – Beatbot calls it “ECO” mode, but the only time I’ve used it is when I’m out of town. Drop your Sora 70 in the water before you leave town and it cleans the floor for 30 minutes every other day. In our experience, this isn’t long enough to thoroughly clean the floor, but it does pick up the worst of what falls in and lets you come home to a pool that isn’t a complete mess. I’ve gone about a week in ECO mode and found the Sora 70 still had about 10% charge left after running 4 of these short cycles. This is the one mode that does not end with the bot floating itself to the surface (the whole idea is for it to stay on the bottom for regular cleanings while you’re away), so you’ll need the hook that comes with the Sora 70 to pull it to the surface (it attaches to a standard telescoping pole). The ECO mode is great but a little one-size-fits-all. I’d like to have more control over the length and frequency of the cleaning cycles. If we’re leaving for a long weekend, for example, it would be more useful to me if I could set it to run an hour every day so the pool’s more likely to be in great shape when I get home. But if we only get one option, I think it was smart to design it for longer trips. Battery life – The Sora 70 does more than our AS2 and still goes a solid hour longer before running out of juice and floating itself to the surface (~5h15m for the Sora 70; ~4h for the AS2). Self parking – I didn’t realize how much I’d appreciate the way that Beatbots surface, steer to the wall and hold themselves there for you when they finish their cycle. The Sora 70 also pumps itself out to get lighter as you lift it from the water, something I don’t remember the AS2 doing. This is the way. Color – We love the bright purple finish. It’s fun for the pool and the pool is supposed to be fun. It stood out to us from all the blues, greens, blacks, and whites that dominate the other bots out there. Other Details I like about Beatbot the company: When you open the box, right inside is a big quick-reference card with all the info and visuals you need for the first week while you get used to your new bot. Too large to lose easily and not too large to stick on a bulletin board or magnet board. Beatbot’s support team has been fantastic for us. Their customer-facing reps are very responsive, and they seem to have good engagement with the engineering team behind the scenes for technical questions. I’ve seen them push out firmware updates in response to customer feedback, even for some issues that wouldn’t affect most pools. They seem pretty active on their subreddit and solicit feedback there. I’m not on Facebook, but I’ve heard they’re responsive there, too. To close, we’ve loved having the Sora 70 so far and look forward to using it for a long time! ... show more

Not up to the hype.
Color: Navy Blue
It gets stuck. Sometimes I have to intervene. It cleans very well but the software used to control it isn’t very intuitive. Overall it’s just ok. Plus it needs a charging stand. This isn’t very convenient.

Worth every penny for a clean pool!
Color: Navy Blue
I’ve been through so many vacuums that operate off the pressure line of the pool and I felt like was spending more time emptying filters and clearing our debris from pressure line. Finally bit the bullet and purchased this gem! My only regret is that I didn’t buy it sooner. Our pool is 43,000 gallons 😳 it is enormous and is surrounded by huge trees so the debris that collects is never ending. I chose this model because of the need for the vacuum to work on the water surface. Vacuum takes about 5 hours to get to a full charge and takes just about the entire battery to do a complete pro clean of the pool. So that includes floor, waterline, surface and walls. Parks itself at the pool edge when done cleaning. Lifts out easily and drains water from system. The filter is huge, easy to access and cleans quickly with a hose. Control from app and remote capable. The vacuum itself has a sleek appearance and is sturdy. ... show more

Time saver, set it and forget it
Color: Navy Blue
I've been really happy with how well this cleans the pool. It picks up dirt, leaves, and debris much better than I expected, and it's nice not having to drag around a manual vacuum anymore. The battery life has been solid, and it does a good job covering the entire pool. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the app. It works, but it can be a little clunky and doesn't always connect as smoothly as I'd like. Once the robot is running, though, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Overall, if you're looking to save time and keep your pool clean, this is a great investment. I just hope they continue improving the app with future updates ... show more

Best Robotic Pool Cleaner I’ve Used – Smart, Powerful, Truly Hands-Free
Color: Navy Blue
After using pressure-side cleaners for years (including Polaris), I upgraded to the Beatbot robotic pool cleaner; and this is a completely different level of pool maintenance. If you’re looking for a fully automated, cordless, reasonable price, robotic pool cleaner with smart navigation, this is one of the best options out there. Pros: Excellent cleaning performance (floor, surface, walls, waterline). Cleans thoroughly and consistently. Unlike older cleaners that move randomly, this uses smart navigation and actually covers the pool efficiently without missing spots. Just drop it in and let it work, no plumbing, no tangles, no setup headaches. Another thing that I love is Smart auto-parking feature (underrated but VERY useful). When the battery runs low or the cycle finishes, it automatically comes and parks near the pool edge. Makes retrieval easy, no more fishing it out from the pool. The multi-layer filter design captures everything from leaves to fine dirt. Easy to remove and rinse out. The overall build is pretty solid and well-engineered. You can tell it’s a high-end product right out of the box. ⸻ Things to Know (Cons) It’s a bit heavy when lifting out Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable — especially when full of water. I recommend squatting and lifting with your legs instead of bending over. Some water drainage when removing Like most robotic cleaners, it holds water briefly when you pull it out. Let it drain for a few seconds before carrying. Price is on a bit higher side, but this is definitely a premium robotic pool cleaner, but in my opinion, with a company that backs it with long warranty, and rigorous testing of their products; it justify..! On my journey, if I see any changes in performance, I’ll update my review. ... show more
