I grew up by the beach and still go back home regularly for some beach time. I’ve tried many types of umbrellas, and the struggle is finding one that is light enough to carry, sturdy enough not to blow away, easy enough to assemble that I can do it by myself while my 3 kids run around and provides enough shade that everyone is covered. This is a tall order, but Qipi delivers. I carried it to the beach along with my beach bag, my beach chair and a cooler. The umbrella was definitely the lightest thing in my load. I put it together solo to see how long it would take, my fellow parents know, you don’t have long to assemble the umbrella because if you take too long your kids are in the ocean without you. Am I right? For my first time assembling it took me 5 minutes 44 seconds to put up the umbrella, 7 minutes and 9 seconds if you include the side panel. It took me 5 minutes and 29 seconds to completely disassemble. Impressive. I really was impressed with the sturdiness of the middle bar and the spiked drill like bottom with turning bar. This is critical to keep the umbrella from blowing away. I was able to really get it in tight, to the point where I had to unscrew it to get it out at disassembly. We got some heavy wind and the thing barely moved. I also really liked the side panel. One of the annoying thing about umbrellas is that you have to move to stay in the shade throughout the day. But with this, I only had to get up once and switch the side panel from one side to the other to stay in the shade. Took me 10 seconds and I never had to move my chair. Disassembly was also quick and easy. I like how the bag has a Velcro pocket for the stakes and turn bar. I hate when they get lost in the bag. All in all I am impressed with this umbrella. It was much sturdier than I was expecting but still light and easy to assemble. So far I have only used it once. But I will update my review over time to see how it holds up. I expect to get 3-5 years of use out of my umbrellas so we’ll see if this lasts that long.

So easy to set up and perfect for two chairs. Going to use for the beach instead of my ‘beach shade’. Love the moveable zippered side!. The center pole has a line mark for how deep the pole should be buried. Material feels durable and sand pockets are nice and deep. Corners have netting to hold drink bottles, sunscreen, phone etc - all four sides. Nice to keep these items out of the sand. I’m using for the beach, but see it easily being use for land use too. Just would leave a hole behind from the pole. I can’t wait to use it. Will update if we have any negative issues, no update = great performance. BTW, we got the turquoise stripe and the color is true to the sites photos.

This canopy was a beach game-changer! Super easy to set up, super easy to take down. Quick and effective and gave us no trouble, really sturdy and stable. The sun shade was easy to install and weigh down using the sand pockets too. It was even easy to get back in the zipper bag! Perfect size for two adults. Would probably be great with a kiddo too, but larger parties may want something a little bigger. Anyway it was ideal for us and I would definitely recommend!

The good: This was a game changer for our family beach trip this year. Super easy to set up and take down, and very sturdy in the wind. A family with 2 shibumi shades were next to us and had to constantly re arrange them, until they finally took them down. The removable side shade was amazing!! Just had to change the sides as the sun moved. Would be great if you could buy additional ones. The bad: Only leaving 4 stars instead of 5 because unfortunately, on day 2 of using it, 2 of the stake loops broke off and left a hole in the sand pocket. So, we won’t be able to use it at the lake or in the yard.

We live at the beach and I own 2 of these. I could not live without them on the beach. They take 5 minutes to set up and are so practical. Originally I bought one for two people which is perfect. Then I bought an extra large Cool Cabana for bigger groups. Which was hard to assemble and put up and not as sturdy. So I sold it and bought another Qipi. Which if we have a bigger group I just set up them both next to each other. 2 Qipis provide more shade than 1 Cool Cabana and can be set up in less time. The Qipis ease of setting up is its #1 feature. As well as it being lightweight. I as a small female can carry it to the beach and set it up very easily by myself. It does excellent in high winds, and I have even put up the extra side piece and hid out under it in a rainstorm. The extra side piece provided protection from the rain. It also can provide extra shade if needed, and the sand pockets are plentiful and keep it from becoming a wind sail. Also purchasing 2 Qipis is actually less money than one large Cool Cabana and this way you have options. I get asked about it all the time. I highly recommend this product.
