Not at all hard to put together - get all the screws started - don't tighten any of them until you get them all started - if you do that, based on the four chairs we received - easy. Not a single problem. I spent a lot of time looking for chairs locally - chairs that cost $700-$800 each - and wasn't thrilled with any of them. Just on a crazy whim, I punched dining room chairs into Amazon, narrowed the search, saw these, ordered them, and didn't expect much - but they're excellent!
