I don't know what took me so long to order this and the Triple Tap. I have them both installed in my garage and love them. The light is a little smaller then I expected but I think it works great! I like the LEDs vs. regular bulbs as they seem to take allot more abuse then a regular bulb. I used to replace my bulbs all the time after the light would fall more than a few feet while on and break the element in the bulb. I'll take the narrower light field of the LEDs over a fragile bulb any day. I like the little hook as it has a strong magnet in it's base and allows you to attach the hook's magnetic base to something and hold the cord of the light while the magnet on the end of the light can be attached to another metal object holding the light sideways suspended between two points. (I'll get a picture of this, and post it.) To be clear there are 3 magnets with this light. 2 on the light (one on the end, one about half way down on the back) and a 3rd on the hook. This make it very easy to get it to stay where you want it. When I first got it installed the retraction would stop about 3 feet short of the light. It took less then 10 minutes to adjust the tension to get it to retract all the way. ... show more

Awesome retractable light. The magnets stick very well. Very bright! Find myself just sticking the light to the undercarriage while my vehicle is up on the lift. Retractable power cord is very quick and strong. No complaints whatsoever.

The light is basically a good looking, mostly well constructed work light. Pros: * The mounting system is well constructed, the bracket is detachable from the reel which makes mounting it pretty easy. It hangs off my garage ceiling and it does let you set the hang distance. * The reel housing seems sturdy, and the mechanism works reasonably well. * The 60 LED is a wand which works great when working under the hood because it lets you get light precisely on what you need to see. * The on-off switch is a nice toggle switch. Cons: * Expensive! * As others have noted, the lights are not that bright. You'd expect a bit more light from 60 LED's. * The retractable cord is a hard plastic, which to me feels cheap (It's the single biggest disappointment with the light). * The magnetic hook never seems to have a good place to hang. I think the hook is too small, which makes it hard to find something to hang it over. I would buy it again, which is why I gave it 4 stars. If the lights were brighter and the cord made from better materials, it would be a 5 star review. ... show more

Looking back it is amazing how much time I wasted during repair work, trying to get my flashlight positioned securely and then moving it around constantly. I should have had one of these long ago. No longer do I need to stop to search for a charged battery when mine dies, no longer do I need to try to figure out how to perch the 18V Makita flashlight just right so it won’t fall but still give me light. No longer do I have to put the Makita light back together when I guessed wrong and it fell. The multiple magnet mount points and included hook ensure you will be able to mount it in a useful way 99% of the time. The long cord ensures you can get it where you need it. I’ve dropped my impact wrench on this and hit it with a few other things and it had just some little nicks to show for it. The only slight improvement I could wish is for a cord guide to help it reel back side to side evenly. For the price though I will just guide it myself and be happy. This is a high quality product in my arsenal of tools in my garage. ... show more

This light is sold on other platforms at a higher price and touted as commercial grade.( I'm thinking not so much) It does have a good/ok over all build quality, however, I gave it 3 stars because the base of the light aka handle area GETS REALLY HOT during use.
