Purchased the Battery Tender charger to replace my Juice Box that keep having ground fault issues. Selected this brand as I had success with using their trickle charger on my other vehicles. In short, happy with the purchase and would recommend. Was an easy install (since already had the 40 amp plug installed). Also the unit is surprisingly light weight, but still feels of good quality. Wish the unit was a little smaller like the Juice Box, but was happy to see a simple setup. No wifi needed or needing to download yet another app. Plus the LED is easy to read and provides good status. Only bad is the connector itself. Doesn't always feel like it locks in well. Think if they made the handle / nose a little longer would help. But overall works well. Mostly used with our BMW i3 and they seem to get along well.

This is a great charger and one that I have been waiting for! I have tried countless smaller and cheaper chargers and they a ll seem to be disappointing and stop working. This battery charger is going strong and charges correctly! This uses a J1772 plug. This level 2 EV charger has a good length cable at 25 FT you will not have trouble reaching your car port. I love having the longer cable to reach my car with ease. I already have the 240V installed in my garage so be sure you get that plug installed correctly or this will not work. So I usually get about 30 miles of charge per hour or so, as an estimate. It may get higher for you or lower but it is consistent. Other chargers that I have tried are all over the place and stop charging all together. The display is nice and clear, it tells you all of the relevant information. It will show the charging output and how much charge you are getting. It will show you the status of the charger as well as any errors that may be happening with it. I love having the display so I can see if there is anything wrong with it or also what charge you are getting. This also has a neat feature where you can use 2 RFID cards to be able to access the charger. So if you want to control who uses the charger, this is a great option. If you have a shared space or anything you can control who is able to use it. This also brings the mounting hardware so it is ready for you to install and setup, no need for getting extra brackets and hardware. I would highly recommend this charger for anyone who really needs a quality charger and drop those cheap ones.

I’ve had about half a dozen charger in the last 6 years, this one is the highest quality. I did pay more for this but I like what its has to offer and that it is a trusted brand that has been in the battery business for quite awhile. The pros-Energy Star listed (my electrician said to always go with the energy star listed product) it has a long cord because parking next to a charger is not always possible, 3 year warranty, more generous than the other chargers I had so when one of them stop working I was out of luck. Comes with 2 RFID card which is what I really like as I have an Airbnb and can now offer EV charging with the use of these cards. This may be a pro or a con but it’s a larger module than any of my other chargers but surprisingly light, so easy to install even on drywall with the included bracket. Biggest con would be the price but after I add up all the amount of all the other chargers I’ve purchased I’m still ahead with this one.

I've known the Battery Tender brand for many years and have trusted them in the automotive industry parts and supplies. I chose this 40A Level 2 Charging Station based on the design, being able to wrap the cable around the charging station and with the functional and detailed screen displaying the charging session information. This Battery Tender eCharge 40A station uses a NEMA 14-50P, which is a 4-prong plug that plugs into a conventional 50A circuit. Specifically, this type of receptacle requires 2 line hots, 1 neutral, and a ground. In the case of this EV charging station, the neutral is not used. The charging station includes a long 25ft cord which makes me very happy because sometimes I need to reach other vehicles parked outside my garage and when I have my car parked in the garage I can wrap the cord around the station. 25ft is an amazing length for a charging station most do not offer. If it matters to you, this station also includes an RFID reader which controls who can and cannot use the station in case you have it mounted outside and you need to control who can use it. The charging station includes the mounting bracket and hardware needed to easily mount the station. I'm very pleased with the installation of this Battery Tender EVSE and look forward to using it for years to come! I'm super happy with it.

I wanted an 40A EV charger I could trust that would work with the NEMA 14-50 outlet that I already had in my garage. While they may be new to EV chargers, the Battery Tender brand has been around a long time. This charger doesn't have all the frills of some other chargers, but I wanted to keep it simple anyway. I didn't want to have to install yet another app on my phone just to charge my car at home. I already have an app for my car that I can get charge status updates on anyway. If I really want to know what is going on, I can walk outside and the front panel of the charger tells me all I need to know when the car is actively charging. The build quality of this charger feels like it is made to last. The fact it is made by a trusted brand gives me confidence that it won't let me down.
