  • Product arrived in poor condition and nonworking
The media could not be loaded. Bought this new with damaged packaging from amazon for a discounted price and it was definitely not of new condition. I opened the package and the box had been opened like mentioned in description, but the product is missing two screws for the handle and in nonworking condition. It also had the negative clamp disconnected from inside the main body and pulled most of the way out (shown in pic) which I’m guessing is the cause of the break of several clips that hold the main display to the body. When plugged in the product would just blink (shown in the video). With all that said, to my luck I’m mechanically inclined and willing to attempt to fix before sending back. After hours of taking the product apart and diagnosing where the wires went and putting it back together to then taking it back apart to diagnose other disconnected parts, it’s back together finally and appearing to be working. I’ll adjust the review upon diagnosis if it works properly or not. Just disappointed I paid the amount of money I paid to spend that much time working on something when it was described to be new in damaged packaging... ... show more

  • This charger unit is simple to use and works as advertised
My very old charger just quit and I needed a replacement that could charge both 6 and 12 volt systems. Not all do. After some relatively easy assembly, I put it to use charging my golf cart 6 volt batteries. It took longer than expected but it did the job. I recommend this unit for ease of use and fair pricing. ... show more

  • 2 Defective chargers!
Then they shipped a second on and it was very weak it could barley start a 10 H/P engine I also sent this one back!

  • Doesn't seem to want to charge anything.
Constantly reads bad battery if you try to start it with a battery that is low on juice, which last I checked, is the whole reason you need a charger. What happened to chargers that just charged and then it's up to you to determine if the battery is bad?

  • This item is dangerous and I am afraid it will cause a fire
controls are confusing to figure out. It is suppose to shut down once the battery is fully charged. One time it didn't and the next day I went in and the battery was very hot and it was still charging. I do not left it unattended and only use it rarely because I am afraid of fire

  • doesnt work
This charger will not charge a battery that has no juice, it will say bad battery and not charge.....I can put that same battery on my old charger and it will charge it, then put the same battery back on this charger and it will say it is a good battery and start maintaining......why would i need to charge a battery unless that battery is dead????? DUH!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CHARGER TO ANYONE! ... show more

  • Wire to run the display was too short to connect. Had to return the product.
The wire from the handle to the charger was too short to be connected. Amazon returns are easy but a drivfe into town from my country home to return the charger is a pain in the rear. Quality control does not apoear to be a priority with Schumacher.

  • Should have read reviews.
Should have read reviews before purchase. Item was in perfect condition but did not work. 40 year old analog charger made this charger look silly. Bottom line, read the reviews folks.
