The media could not be loaded. 61 days after purchase and on 3rd use of this saw, the trigger and safety on the saw became non functional. The saw comes on when inserting battery and only turns off when battery is removed without touching trigger. This is a serious safety concern. It is beyond the 30 day return window. I reached out to Soyus about warranty replacement for this item. I will update review if they respond and make this right. ... show more

Note: Unit does not come with an oiler so I would squirt it with oil to help protect the cain! I bought it to get the batteries as spair batteries for my older pole saw. This was cheaper the buying the batteries separately! But I still like the saw.

Although this was able to cut some very small brush, it did not cut easily or cleanly. The 4" blade is way too short (especially when compared with a 6" saw I previously had that cost about the same and cut through a copse of cedars like butter). Also I don't think this saw is safe. Its tiny size makes it too easy to inadvertenty hit both the trigger and the safety button at the same time. There is hardly any space between these buttons (see photo) and the buttons don't need to be fully depressed to engage. The handle itself is too short and barely fits my small hand. Just holding the saw without hitting anything while removing the blade cover, etc., is a challenge. Be safe. Buy a bigger and better saw. ... show more

I actually ordered 3 others first because I liked having a case +. But none of them performed like the Soyus. I used my friends and it motivated me to buy one. I like the larger blade in the others but this one is safer, I think.

The media could not be loaded. I test a lot of these mini-saws and thought this was another one worth checking out. At first I was disappointed that it had no case. Not even a tool bag. Most of the mini-saws come with spare bars and chains. This one did not. Ok. So now lets consider the saw itself..... 1) Much more powerful motor than almost any I have tested, which is over 20 of them. 2) The instructions say it only needs oil once a week. Interesting but I still squirt it every 5 or 6 cuts. It's only lack of oil that kills these saws. 3) Comes with 2 very strong 2.0 amp batteries and the replacements are 40 bucks so that's a plus. 4) Great charger. I am not a fan of the small, slow chargers. 5) Cutting. I was very surprised with the effortless way this cut. Very stable. I cut chucks of dead trees for Live-edge projects so I want something light enough to carry and yet still able to cut fast. This does all that. Under 3 pounds means I can walk miles without having to rest with this one. 6) Adjustment is done with an eccentric. You simply loosen the cover and rotate the green dial until you have 1/2 of the chain guide fin showing, then lock it back down. 7) Changing the blade is as simple as any of them but I did see one reviewer complain that after they replaced the blade it would not cut. They actually had the blade on backward. Be sure to have the cutting edge coming toward you on the 'bottom' of the bar if you need to flip the bar for wear or simply replace the blade. I am giving this a solid 4 stars. If they included a case it would have been a 5. I personally have lots of spare tool bags but not everyone does. They really need to consider that, In my opinion. ... show more
