I just got this so I'll try to update review as time goes by. This chair is as beautiful as the pictures in the ad. I bought because of great reviews and I'd say they are all true. True - it is tricky to assemble (you have to really squeeze the front and back into place because the padding is nice and thick). The seat is not a slab of wood or plastic with a foam cushion on top - it's built right with springs. Here is how I assembled in case anyone needs any tips: *One person can assemble but having two is better so one person can push and hold back or seat in place while other inserts and tightens bolts. You really have to press them together quite hard to get the bolt to connect with the back piece • Place the Seat upside down on a sofa edge or chair about that height • Place Back upside down at slight angle and bring pieces together (don't be discouraged as they look like they might not fit) • With one foot or leg, LIGHTLY press down on seat cushion while pressing Back close enough to get Screw started in the MIDDLE HOLE (at the center of the Back) * Make sure you have locking washer on bolt first, then flat washer so it has that hard surface to Lock against when fully tightened • Tighten that screw til it's snug but not all the way tightened • Insert and snug up the other two bolts (screws) on either side of that • Go back and fully tighten all bolts til can't turn anymore * Do NOT overtighten as you could strip the bolts • The instructions for installing the hardware are illustrated nicely in the instructions

I highly recommend these chairs. We purchased 2 for our petite dining area. The quality is amazing for the price. It took 45 minutes to assemble bith. Breaking down and recycling the packaging took almost as long. Haha! Comes with 1 extra screw so don't panic. Comes with the only tool you will need - an allen wrench. The upholstery is gorgeous - soft chenille. I am impressed with the sewing/details. Very nicely done. The mechanisms are very good. Lean back, yes please. Up and down? As good as a carnival ride. Smooth rolling. As good as it gets. We bought 2 so let me say I would give these 10 stars.

Currently I am in grad school and with a mixture of several three- hour long Zoom classes, reading articles on my laptop, and writing reports, I was desiring an upgrade in my 15 year office chair. I searched and paid attention to measurements to accommodate my office desk. My father put together and though he was able to figure out the steps, it did take him longer than what other reviews have stated. My Zoom sessions have been better (more comfort for extended periods of sitting), the chair supports my back better, and I have noticed I am more productive in my work.
