  • All alive, and stay living if cared for
These came a bit faster than expected, so that was nice. All living, or at least 99%... I didn't see packaging as my husband unpacked them before I got home, but I'm happy. Much better deal than the pet store, and lasted a whole month before they all got eaten by my beardie. Here's an update after ordering multiple times: sometimes they are almost all alive. Sometimes they show up with most dead. Which I'm sure is not their fault. But I will tell you, there customer service is great IF YOU CALL. Amazon messages about dead crickets don't seem to go anywhere, but if you CALL, they are great and friendly and will replace them for you. I've ordered through all the companies around this price point, and because of this, Bassett will be my go to. They also have the best price. I just avoid ordering in extreme weather, I live in the Midwest, so don't bother ordering when it's freezing outside, or like 100 degrees, because of course they can't stay alive in a box for a couple days ... show more

  • Spiders in my crickets?! Spiders in my crickets?!
I do not recommend this product. Not only did everything arrive dead but I also cut myself on the mesh wire they used for airflow which was just a hole cut in a box and affixed with staples (see picture). I counted seven unknown spiders, two or three different kinds and three weird centipedes or beetles. The smell was horrendous. Just buy from Josh's ... show more

  • Happy, healthy, good quality, live crickets!!
Ordered and received hundreds of beautiful, lively and healthy crickets direct from Bassett’s that are superior in quality to all other vendors. These crickets were not insanely ravenous or dehydrated as ones I’ve bought from others. Bassett’s probably gut loaded really well before shipping— timing and weather might also be a factor to such happy buggers. It took 2-3days to get to me on mostly 70-80F days and the Post Office did what they are supposed to do by delivering to the door instead of stuffing the package in the community hotbox, which is a critter death chamber. As a result, almost everyone arrived alive. Very very happy chicken keeper!! ... show more

  • Healthy crickets, bigger than 1/2” though
The crickets arrived without any dead ones as far as I could tell. They have been transferred to a screened tank as the box they shipped in is too small to leave them in for any extended amount of time. The shipping box makes a good ‘house’ for them to hide or sleep in if you open the flap door and even the box flaps once they are in a larger container. Be prepared to feed them because you will have them awhile. They will eat finely diced fruit, vegetables and even meat (haven’t tried dog food yet.) I even set them up with live plants and landscape similar to what’s in my reptile tank, which they seem to like. My blue bellies loved them and are fattening up on them. The one issue I have with them is the size. Only a few have been the 1/2” size that I wanted. Most have been 3/4” to 1” with some even bigger than that! I’ve released the larger ones into my backyard because my lizards won’t eat them. The actual size should be more consistent or more accurate, especially for those of us ordering for smaller reptiles. I do recommend ordering from this breeder though because they shipped quickly, the crickets are healthy, and it’s a great value compared to buying them at a pet store ... show more

  • 500 live happy healthy crickets
We were given 2 geckos from a co-worker. My son loves them already. I went to the pet store in our small town only to realize how expensive their crickets were I spent $4 on 20 crickets this will only last my geckos about 4 days. I on a limited budget could not see how to afford feeding the geckos we were given. I got on Amazon and was excited and nervous about ordering 500 hundred crickets. I could not be happier. I called my local post office to let them know they were coming and to my surprise only 2 were dead when they arrived. I have them in an old fish tank with a screen on top. They eat dog food and I spray a paper towel so they dont drown. I have had them for a week and only probably 5 have died. They do sing a lot at night but my son is a heavy sleeper and it doesn't bother him at all. Very happy with the purchase and will buy again. Highly recommend... Update I have ordered from this company 3 times now all with live happy crickets. 12/13/2018 ... show more

  • I apparently paid for dead crickets. Absolutely disgusted. I apparently paid for dead crickets. Absolutely disgusted.
EDIT: They refunded my order without Question. So, I'll give them 3 stars for atleast being prompt with Customer service and Handling the situation Original Review: Yea. Not happy. They sat on my porch in 60 degree weather for ONE HOUR before I brought them in. And all of them were dead. So, they were dead long before they reached my door step. These were cheaper but I'm not rich and can't reorder. 24 hours later, and still no response from the seller. I'll probably go back to Josh's Frogs for my crickets. Only 2 out of 500 of those died before arriving at my doorstep and ALL 500 of these were dead. if things change, I'll update but otherwise, I'm not the only one that received dead crickets. No heating packet, nothing. ... show more

  • Great Quality Great Service
When i purchased these crikets I was a little skeptical, but when they arrived in a box with egg cartons and I opened it up they are so healthy looking and all alive. I purchased other crikets from other places and it was no good. But this company has alot to offer they back up there word. Bassett crikets is number 1 and a 5 star company. So i recommend BASSETTS CRIKETS for quality and great service so check them out. Thanks again ... show more

  • The crickets will be out of the box before you open it.
Many were dead, but we still had a pretty large yield. They were smaller than expected and they were not put it anything other than the shipping box. Not only did it make it difficult to transfer them, but they were literally crawling out of the box before I even opened it. They ended up everywhere.
