Directions: Glass terrariums are the preferred choice of professional Herpetologists. They offer the best viewing for your animal; they are suitable for damp and humid conditions, are hygienic and easy to clean. Glass also maintains the correct heat gradient more safely and easily-maintaining the correct heat gradient is critical to a reptile's and amphibian's well-being as they use external heat sources in their environment to regulate their body temperatures.

  • Well made and looks great
Color: Reptile Terrarium - Double Hinge Door
I was impressed with the build quality of this thing as soon as I got it out of the box. It was easy to put together, It looks sharp, and the design was well thought out. The lock is really nice. I was expecting one of those metal slide locks you might see on a locking case in a store, but the lock is so discreet at first I thought it didn't come with one. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right enclosure and I'm really happy with my decision. Great enclosure. Great value for the money. ... show more

  • What a great after all the research
Firstly, these arrived quickly and in excellent shape with excellent packing and were not overly heavy or awkward. Secondly, I'm a sucker for glass and multipurpose things. I looked at dozens of terrarium/vivarium/reptile habitat enclosures. I have been trying to upgrade my leopard geckos to an enclosure that would offer enrichment and interest for both them and my family. I looked at so many pvc, wood, mdf, plastic, diy, glass etc options. I just couldnt purchase anything that cant hold a spill or will warp, that bugs could chew, would be melted or scratched very easily or is purely plastic and flexible... I don't like the exo terra due to the wide plastic horizontal bar etc in the worst spot. But this terrarium that is stackable and can hold water if I choose and has really nice components...including wire organizer/keeper options and a tight fitting lid...its so nice. I love it. I bought the rock background 36x18" for the exoterra terrarium of the same size from universal rocks and I'm floored. Looks like a show piece. The gecko is essentially a decoration to the ecosystem on display now. I am so pleased with these. I will be buying another that is 36x12x18 to stack atop my other two. I think there is no better commercial option and honestly...not really a better custom option for the price. My one critique is that they do not have a kit for hiding the space between stacked units. So I will need to make something. I'm very pleased with the quality and ease of construction and sturdiness of these terrariums. In the future, I could easily change the enclosure and make a higher humidity ecosystem with a water feature or even fish. You cant beat these. What a fantastic enclosure. I used local cholla wood, Josh's frogs dirt for one and then the bio dude substrate for the other. Leopard geckos do love to climb, they do, they made their own changes to their enclosures too. These are easy to move with help and reconfigure when you decide to do your flooring. They even have wheels as an option. We have three stacked and universal rocks backgrounds in all three. Zero problems except evaporation is fast with the no light subcutaneous heat bulbs. So have a big container of water by your enclosures even for lizards to water plants and keep your enclosure habitable for isopods and other organisms. After doing floors in the house and a remodel, I finally got my set up back in order, I added a third enclosure and renovated my first "scape". After I complete my cord mess and get my timers to obey, I have some woodgrain panels I have cut to fit for the sides and I will add those. For the front areas in-between, I will be using a perforated black panel. I put my enclosures on a dunnage (I think that's what it's called) stand meant to keep large sacks of flour and ingredients off the ground in a food facility. It's made from welded aluminum and just fits and 20 gallon terrarium under for my quarantine tank. Ensure your base is level and all your enclosures will have perfectly aligned glass doors. We will probably get another reptizoo because I have another universal rocks background. But I'm not getting it until my husband and catches a collared lizard. So, motivation.... The whole family loves these enclosures. I can stare at them for hours. I may get a zen garden rake or mini yard equipment for it. I only have live plants in one now, I made sure to have a completely contained, yet wicking soil pot for them this time. You can't go wrong with these very sturdy and amazing repti zoo components and enclosures. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble, great size for adult beardie
Color: Reptile Terrarium - Sliding Door
If you’re here looking at larger tanks you probably already own a pet that is big enough to need a good amount of space, a couple of heat zones, accessories (basking, a hide, feeding, etc), and a budget of a few hundred dollars. So in this review I’ll assume that. There are several very similar tanks available, and it was hard for me to distinguish between all the features. This one met all my preferences and Hopefully this helps sum up: - WIDTH AND HEIGHT: 18 inches (sometimes 67 and 85 gallon measurements can be confusing, and this is $100+ cheaper than the 24-inch wide one that is otherwise the same. (If you have $500, a really big pet and also a table or stand that can support 2 ft wide and ~90 lbs, head for the 24x18 - otherwise this is a great midrange. - It is 4 ft (48 inches) long. (to get a quick idea of this size, stretch both your arms out. And from one fingertip across to about the other elbow is +\- 4 ft.) If you have an adult bearded dragon with accessories this is a really good size for heat zones and for them to move freely - 3 ft long (36 inches) long for a tank to me is quite small, even if it is a lot cheaper. - It has TWO SLIDING front glass panels - there are double grooves in the front so either panel slides fully over - giving you about 2 ft of access to either end of the tank. If you prefer swinging door(s) this tank is not it. - This one is a big feature: it is COLLAPSIBLE - it arrives packed mostly flat, AND can be broken back down for storage or transport. The base is assembled already and is 4 ft long by 4 inches tall and water-tight. Then the side, front and back panels (which are tempered glass) come flat and are assembled with corner and center poles - Two mesh SIDE VENTILATION panels are half-height and so combine with half-glass panels for better airflow. *Note that above 4 inches tall, the tank will NOT be water-tight - 4-cord CABLE MANAGEMENT port on one side, if you need to run cables inside the tank (I don’t, but It’s there if you do) - Metal mesh top with plastic outer frame. The frame itself is screwed in to the corners of the tank (for stability since it is assembled from pieces), but you can remove the mesh with latches. The top is not hinged, so this would be for cleaning, etc NOTE ALSO: Get lamp stands if you don’t have them. The mesh in the lid is metal, but the outer frame of the lid is PLASTIC - so you’ll need lamp stands to keep the lights up off the lid so the edges don’t melt. Plus, even though you won’t be opening the lid much, mercury vapor bulbs are super delicate (and also $$$) so should be moved/jostled as little as possible. This tank is really ideal for a single adult bearded dragon. For a pair, the minimum size would be 80 gallons (40 per pet) so you’d want the 24” wide tank If you are a new bearded dragon owner (I don’t know about other pets), be sure to check the wattage of your full spectrum UVA/UVB lights to make sure you’re getting adequate heat down to the bottom of the 18 inch-tall tank on the cool side, and have a climb or basking area that your pet can get within 6-12 inches of the heat on the hot side and it is still around 105 degrees. So a basking area that is 8-12 inches off the floor. I have the tank set up and just need to put accessories in before Jasper gets his new home, and I’ll update with pics of my handsome fellow! ... show more

I’m going to nitpick a little. I do love the quality and thickness of the glass, and the whole assembly wasn’t bad at all. The top frame does not feel very sturdy if you plan on propping a bunch of lights or even just opening it from the top daily. I didn’t have any issues with glass gaps or unevenness, everything was packaged great and fit exactly how it was supposed to. This setup does not come with the glass side interchangeable pieces, only the mesh. Again with the top frame, it’s essentially a crevice paradise if you have a small unruly corn snake or hog nose, it’s flimsy and I’m able to push my finger through enough on the corners that there’s a gap that a small/juvenile snake could escape from. This will work fabulously for what I need it for and the overall quality is great, I just feel like the top frame design and quality is mediocre compared to the rest of the enclosures quality. Picture of top frame ledge maze and the unruly noodle who would escape it ... show more
