What a dumb design I was hoping this camera does not need wire but it need them while driving. let me explain the camera is solar but it only uses the solar panel if the car is parked and it will only rec while driving unless you connect the camera to the electric charge panel. ... WHAT?! I thought this camera will always record since its expose to sunlight and has a battery but NO, in order to turn on the device you have to charge the freaking thing just to turn it on, if the camera is not connected with something to charge the stupid thing turns says BATTERY POWERED and turns off. WHAT WHY?! WHAT WAS THE POINT OF BATTERIES. The camera also need internet connection to view any videos so you have to download an app and paid subscription, thankfully you don't need the subscription but I already dislike the idea of downloading an app and have paid subscription in my face just to find any rec videos. Also prey that the video file are not corrupted. because this happened to me twice The final straw was the camera overheating and will refuse to record anything and turns off. in my mind is the CAR WILL ALWAYS BE HOT INSIDE EVEN IF I PARK IT IN A SHADE OR GIVE IT SUN BLOCK. What can I it's a Excellent dash cam with impressive features! I’ve been using the Baseus VD1 Pro for a little while now, and I’m really impressed. The 4K front camera is incredibly sharp, and the 1080P rear camera gives great coverage. Daytime footage is crystal clear, and the STARVIS night vision does an excellent job in low-light conditions. One of my favorite features is the battery-powered parking mode. I didn’t have to hardwire it into my car, which made installation much easier. The built-in GPS, fast 5GHz Wi-Fi, and voice control are all convenient, and transferring videos to my phone is quick and simple. The included 32GB memory card was a nice bonus, so I could start using it right out of the box. The Box was well packaged i haven't seen that in a while on Amazon i was so impress. Overall, this dash cam offers premium features at a great value. If you’re looking for a reliable front and rear dash cam with excellent video quality and easy setup, I highly recommend it! This is a review of the Baseus VD1 Pro 4K Video Camera. In this review, I will be discussing quality, installation, setup, and software AP. Quality-This seems to be a well built compact dash cam with excellent picture quality and consists of a front and rear camera. The buttons on the camera are conveniently placed and work well once you get familiar with use of the buttons. Installation-Actual installation is straight forward, follow directions or review videos on installation. The main power cable has a cigarette plug on one end and USB C on the other end that plugs into the top portion of camera that fastens to the windshield. One recommendation would be to supply an optional main power cable with USB or USB C end, instead of cigarette plug for those newer vehicles that don’t have a cigarette power socket in front of the car. Setup was easy once you understand how to use the buttons. Use the bottom menu button To scroll through the settings and the OK button (located above the word Reset) to choose the menu item. Use the middle button to scroll through the individual menu item such as setting the clock. If the camera times out press the power button. Software App for your phone-installation was straight forward, follow the instructions. If you are connecting the WiFi while in your car, Apple Play must be turned off. Once you open the App on your phone you will see the icon of your Dash Cam VD1 Pro 4K. As soon as you open the App, your camera will stop displaying a picture and will say App connected. Once you press the icon on your phone the, view from the camera will be displayed on the phone. On your phone you can access pictures or recorded video under Files. Pictures and Videos will be displayed and clearly marked Front or Rear. Once the power is disconnected, the camera automatically goes into parking mode which is why there is why there is solar power (which only works with parking mode) Final Word-Very good camera at a good price Dave ... show more

Just got this cute dash cam installed and I already love it. It’s small size so it doesn’t block my view. The installation is easy. It comes with the power cord that I can plug directly into cigarette lighter outlet. It comes with 32G memory card which is handy. The video seems clear enough. Absolutely horrible directions! The English words weren’t even spelled correctly. If I had known that it was going to be as difficult as it was to set up, I would have chosen a different product. In the direction pamphlet, it tells you to download the app, and the next step is to connect the app to the unit in your car. There are about 30 different steps in between those two instructions that you have to do though or it won’t connect. It took myself and my college educated son nearly two hours to set it up. There are no troubleshooting tips, or directions on what to do if it doesn’t connect. Additionally, it didn’t come with any sticky clips like most other dash cams come with to help with installing the cords. Also, in order to access any of the footage on your app, you actually have to be in the car and RE-PAIR it to the device every single time! So, you can’t access any of the info on your app anywhere else unless you are in the car with the car running. So, if you are in an accident and your car gets towed, you won’t have access to the app or the footage. That absolutely defeats the purpose!! ... show more
