They are comfortable! I listed this first as I have a bad back. Until I got these I had to sit on a backless stool and suffer or eat sitting on the sofa. (bad idea). They are a quality product. They’re as gook-looking and well made as others I’ve looked at for more than two times the price. The colors in the pictures on the ad are accurate! I was concerned as I was looking for a match to the wood on our table. These do— perfectly! They are sturdy and swivel perfectly….so easy to get on to and off of. They are very attractive. Assembly—— here’s where the only negative comes in. All the pieces were there. Instructions were not of value to my husband who has built everything from an RV, to a house. It would have been so helpful to have detailed instructions for each step in English. He did succeed in putting them together. I couldn’t have done it. My suggestion, if you’re not handy by nature is to invite a talented friend to help you and then feed them dinner using your new stools. Or, simply (but costly) have them sent to you already assembled. P S. My husband said, “assembling them was part of the fun.”. My parting comment is, do not let the lack of ease in assembling deter you from purchasing. They truly are an incredible stool at an incredible price. ... show more

    • Great stools that are somewhat easy to assemble

These are great bar stools. The instructions state you need 2 or more people to assemble, however, I found you can assemble them by yourself. The company does a good job of giving the exact number of hardware required and I was not missing one screw for 4 stools. The instructions are a little confusing on step one. Step one you are just attaching the stool back to the stool seat. Once you figure that out, the other instructions are better. They tell you not to tighten "any" screws until the stool is assembled but the only screws you need to keep loose are the ones for the legs. It is much easier to tighten the screws for steps 1-3 when you assemble rather than at the end of assembly. The stools are comfortable and look great at my countertop bar. ... show more

First off, I was very impressed with the packaging. They obviously put thought into it to avoid damage during shipping. These bar stools are made of REAL WOOD! They are high quality. I was surprised to find such a great bar stool at this price! I bought 10 of them for my large basement bar. Assembly is easy. The first one took me about 30 minutes. After that, it took me about 15 minutes to assemble. I highly recommend these stools! I can’t say enough about them. I am very satisfied with them. I still can believe you get this high quality stool for under $200 for 2 of them!!!! If you are looking for either a counter or bar height stool, but these ! Caught these on sale for $67 each and couldn't have found a better set of stools for the price. They were super simple to assemble and are very sturdy. 360 degree swivel is also a great perk also! So far, so good on this product. I have received two out of three. With the third arriving tomorrow.

    • A challenge to assemble, but the results are reasonably comfortable and attractive.

Once together these are sturdy, nice looking barstools. If you are good with tools, have time and can handle a little frustration you will probably like the results. After verifying all the parts and hardware were in the box, I turned to the instructions sheet. It looked like it would be easy. After about 4 hours of putting things together, taking them apart and putting them back together again I had one barstool. There is a big step missing from the instructions. You need to put in all five screws where the back is screwed to the seat. It tells you to put one in, but never gets around to telling you when to put in the other four. After dismantling the parts put together after step one, you get to go back and put in the other four screws connecting the back to the seat, but two of the holes for the screws on one side don't line up. After trying to adjust the holes to fit, I gave up and put two wood screws in their place. On to stool two. This time I inserted my own step "1B" and installed all five screws connecting the back to the seat. Again, two of the screw holes didn't line up as they were supposed to, but by not tightening the other three and leaving enough "play" I managed to get all five screws in and tightened. With this stool the leges were the problem. The remaining screws were too long. By tightening the screws holding the legs to the frame and the ring connecting the legs I could feel the screws pushing against the outside of the frame legs. If I tightened the screws all the way they would have broken through the outside of the frame ring and the legs. There were no extra, shorter screws left, so I placed extra washers on the screws so they wouldn't go In too deep and break through the finished side of the frame or the legs. Altogether I'll have to cut off about 1/4 inch off of 12 screws that hold the legs on. When I encountered difficulty assembling these barstools I considering returning them, however they were so tightly boxed and the carton was already pretty well damaged in shipping that I decided to see how assembling them would go. For the time and effort in assembling them I should have returned them. Update: Rather than cut off 12 screws to attach the legs, I went to a local full service hardware store. With the assistance of a very helpful store representative I was able to purchase 12 replacement screws of the same thread size and 1/4 inch shorter. I found that of the 12 screw attachments I only needed to use use 8 of the replacement screws. The four screw attachments closest to the seat are deep enough to accommodate four of the longer screws provided without pushing out the wood ahead of them. The replacement screws have a hex head and are silver instead of black, but with a little flat black paint they will be unnoticeable. We are pleased. For the price it's very nice and comfortable, sturdy and wide. I would have given it a 5 star if it was not for several cracks in the wood. At first I thought it was part of the design but not all bar stools had lines around the wood and lines were on different places but not big or as noticeable.
