I ordered the gate to keep my furry critters out of the bedroom areas that are carpeted. It is very sturdy and was fairly easy to install. I will say, I ordered based on the width of the hallway I put it in and it was almost too big. In reality, it should have been spot on, but we made it work and it has been in use for several months now. No more stepping over the previous baby gate :)

This gate is fantastic, and is so nice not to have to take it down to walk through or awkwardly climb over. I'll list a few thoughts below. A lot of pros and one con! 1) Is this thing Cheap and Flimsy!? No, and Yes. Let me explain. The gate itself is made out of square metal bars that are painted white. This is great for dogs as some like to chew up plastic and wooden gates. So A+ is this respect. Also its quite sturdy and my bigger dogs can put their weight on the top and it won't collapse or move at all. Good Stuff. Now the bad part ... the latch is all plastic. If you are an adult and are careful every time you open it you will probably get a few years of use before the little plastic tabs that hold it closed break. This is definately the weak point of the gate! And with a no-name company like this good luck getting a replacement so be careful. Either way these are pretty cheap compared to the nicer models and i can buy 2 or 3 of these for the same price as 1 of them. Probably will have to because seriously why is the latch plastic? 2) The GAP! This is a non issue, there is a huge sign on the gate explaining how to close the gap once installed. And once you tighten the top you can adjust the gap to whatever size works best. Its really quite intuitive! 3) Wall DAMAGE! Yes this thing will damage your drywall. Especially if you tighten it up quite a bit. There is a solution however. Search amazon for "Wall Nanny" these things are spectacular. Trust me get them. Helps to have a second person hold them up while you install the gate. If you plan to take the gate down often, then you might consider putting in a drywall anchor and screwing them in. 4) Dogs ... ok, but is it good for KIDS? Well my kids are teenagers, and one of them couldn't figure out how to open it, so it was pretty good in that respect. As for toddlers? Well I'd be careful using this with kids, and would probably get one that attaches to the wall permanently, especially if you are using this around stairs or keeping them out of dangerous areas. I'd be if installed properly 99% of kids couldn't get through it or knock it off but it seems like a risk i wouldn't take. Since it's metal its also quite heavy and if your kiddo hulk smashes this thing it could fall on them or pinch a finger/etc. I'd seriously skip this for small children. But having said all that its great for teens, that's all i can really speak to.

I really like this product, though I did make a modification. There is a small plastic tab at the bottom that makes it harder for kids to open and close. I’m using this for a pet, so removing the tab makes it much easier for the kids and individuals with full hands to get the gate open. You’ll just need a small Phillips head screwdriver to make the modification.

We had a regalo and it broke, baught this and omg it is WAY better. Who knew there was such a difference in quality of pass though baby gates. Get this one, this makes regalo look like hot garbage.

I ordered this gate so that I could limit where my dog is able to go within the house. I wanted a door that did not require me to permanently mount to the walls. This one fit the bill, as it is very adjustable to a range of doorway lengths. So far, the four contact points have not marred up the paint on the wall. The gate, when properly tightened, is very sturdy and the opening mechanism takes a bit of getting used to initially, but it is easy to get the hang of eventually. I think this gate is a fantastic buy for the price considering how useful it has been for me so far.

This would have probably been a great product but instructions and installation was way to difficult, it didn’t work for us, and is now sitting in my closet because I could not get it to stay on the door frame.
