So easy to install, with the extension, it fit great! Note: If you tighten it to much at the top to "close the gap" it won't open haha. Door swings both ways, clicks when closed(so u know it's secure) bars perfectly separated but not to far where my grandson can get stuck. Wish they had these gates when mine where growing up lol Also great for keeping pets out of places you don't want them to go! ... show more

Note: we are just using this to keep our puppy and elderly cat separated. So this is not a high-stakes use, as if we were trying to baby-proof a staircase. But that said, this gate was very easy to install as we didn't need the drill/wall-mounted stabilizers. Now that it's up, it seems very sturdy and well-constructed. I specifically chose this model for a few reasons: I liked that it could swing open either way, also loved the auto-close or leave-open options (!), and the opening is wide enough to easily walk through without bumping into it or having to turn sideways. The handle may take some getting used to, but hopefully is easy enough to maneuver while I'm coming through with a full cup of coffee - lol. I think this gate will be perfect for our needs! And at this price, it was a very low-risk gamble! :-) ... show more
