I have a Trek 7.4 FX hybrid bike that I converted. Before install weight: 24lb After install weight: 46lb Customer service was great, sending a template and confirming that the equipment will fit before shipping through Amazon messaging. If you want your product as soon as possible, make sure to confirm with the seller quickly, as they include a 24 hour buffer before sending if they don't hear from you. 500W is way more than enough (I could hit 18mph going *uphill*). Even the lowest setting has quite the kick to it. Might even recommend a 250W, if you intend on going typical cycling speeds. Hills are no issue with this beast. My only struggle was trying to rearrange my handlebars to accommodate the new breaks and throttle. I ended up purchasing a new gear shifter to suit the new setup better.

Nice mid drive kit with over 1000 miles on it so far! I only had a problem with the battery - I changed the connector (5 pin to 4 pin) between the battery and the plate!

Yo casi nunca me tomo el tiempo para escribir reseñas pero ahora toca, en esto de los motores centrales y bicicletas todo es más complicado de lo que se ve y todo depende de cada bicicleta y de lo que estén vendiendo. Pues si mi bicicleta es una Trek Marlin 6 29 pulgadas y ya había visto una reseña con Marlin y en mi caso no fue nada pero nada fácil montar esto, lo compré en diciembre y hasta hoy 16 de febrero la logré terminar, primero el eje de pedalier según fabricante es de 73 mm y no lo era es de 75, tuve que ponerle 2 arandelas para que ajustara al tallar el motor, luego tuve que cambiar el cable de los cambios cortar el forro del original para poder poner el sensor de cambios y colocarle más tensores al cable para poder hacer los cambios, y el problema más grande es que el plato más pequeño que puedes poner es el 40T (el original de la trek es 32T) para poder tener una línea de la cadena buena tuve que mandar a pedir el plato por EBay marca PreciAlps Francés porque en Amazon hasta ahora veo que tienen disponible Lekkie de 40T otra excelente marca y aclaro solo sirve para máximo 9 cambios mi bicicleta es de 10 y tuve que quedarme con 9 no da a más esto solo está diseñado para bicicletas de 8 cambios, además para que no me rayara el marco el plato tuve que poner a los 5 tornillos que fijan el plato una arandela por dentro para separarlo un poco más de 1 mm y quedó perfecto no me tocó el marco, en términos generales fue una parida terminar bien hecho el trabajo y colocarle todos los accesorios pertinentes como la batería que me gusta mucho más esta que la que venden junto al motor Bafang. Espero que sirva a alguien y si se puede si tienes paciencia e ingenio, estoy orgulloso de mi bicicleta quedó bella ahora si me falta probarla

This is a decent motor, lots of power. No problems so far after 500 miles. I use it to commute 40 miles a day. I got the bigger motor figuring it'd do better with heat and not have to run it near capacity. It fit my 90's mountain bike just fine but I did add a 2mm spacer and some washers to get more clearance for the chain ring. It's still winter so I've been riding in the snow and cold and it's been fine. The power assist buttons are really close to the menu button on the display so sometimes I accidentally get into the menu when I want to change the assist level. I'm not sure if the throttle is going to survive the weather but it's easy enough to replace it with a better one if that time comes. The battery pack can wobble so I may have to put a shim on or come up with a better way to secure it but it's OK with the water bottle mounts and a pair of Velcro straps. The cables aren't the nicest looking after it's be tied down but that's a small price to pay for getting an e-bike. Other than that, it was straight forward to install everything. The seller was responsive and it shipped quickly.

I’ve been looking for a good E bike at an affordable price for a long time. I knew I did not want a hub drive motor because of the low torque and problems I’ve seen with axles spinning and ripping out the wires. My only option for the torque I wanted is a mid drive motor. Many of these E bikes with mid drive motors are several thousand dollars and I did not want to spend that much money. I bought this conversion kit for an old Kona that I’ve had for many years. I now have a mid drive 1000 W electric bike for under $1500. Buyer beware – this thing has more torque than I expected. I’ve been thrown off the bike twice so far due to the front wheel coming off the ground and my slow reaction to grab the rear brake. I’m learning that you need to start out in the lower assist mode so it doesn’t do that. Starting out in assist mode five is extremely risky especially if you are facing even slightly uphill. Overall I give this thing five stars and I’m thrilled with the performance and range. If you are even slightly mechanically inclined I highly recommend this conversion kit. You can save a ton of money and still have the feel of the bike that you are used to riding. The kit comes with a few tools but not everything you might need for your bike. Keep that in mind. I had to buy a couple of things to take my bike apart. The kit was very easy to install in just a few hours. If I had to do it again I could do it in under an hour. I weigh around 240 pounds at 6 foot one, and this bike can pull me up any hill. It has pedal assist and throttle, and it seems like pedal assist gives you 75% of the power and when you add throttle you get the remaining power. The average bike rider probably doesn’t need 1000 W mid drive conversion kit, so you really should consider what you want. I’m sure that the 500 or 750 W machine would be just fine for someone my size who is just riding around town. That extra power extends your capabilities to dirt hill climbs and more extreme to rain. Take your time and learn how to safely ride with this mid drive modification because you can get seriously injured if you are thrown off the bike backwards. Also, be prepared to improvise battery location. My frame was too tight to install inside the frame so it had to go on top. I also had to buy a top mount battery bracket because I did not want to drill holes in my frame.

My build time was about 2-3 hours, if you know your way around a bike. The kit came with all the tools I did not have to remove my pedals. The only gripe I had was that I had to remove the front derailer, thus cutting my gears selection in half.
