Description

The Prairie Ridge is a full-featured cedar swing set with monkey bars your kids will enjoy for years. They’ll have hours of healthy fun climbing the standard ladder to the large upper play deck with sun shaded canopy, or traversing the monkey bars, and then zipping down the 8' Super Safe Speedy Slide. Swinging on the swing set and playing on the covered upper deck make great summer memories. Out on the swing beam there are two belt swings plus a two-person glider for hours of swinging fun! There’s an observation window up top for maximum high level fun and a snack window down below with built-in bench.     • Safety concerns. Do not buy from praire ridge!
I would not give this product even one Star. But I had to to post a review. I have asked amazon to remove this product from their site due to safety issues. Amazon has refunded me and has agreed to come and take the piece down. Manufacturer has done nothing to satisfy me or my concerns. I am raising my three grandchildren and this was a huge purchase for me. After spending four evenings assembling this poor quality set, my three year granddaughter who weighs less than 30 lbs broke the ladder by climbing up to get into the tower. I could not allow the 6 year old even on the set after that. They were so disappointed and heartbroken that they couldn’t even play. The set was falling apart while being put together. The boards are so thin that they cracked when putting in the hardware. I truly hope that Amazon removes all of praire ridge products. I will keep in contact with them over this issue until I feel that I am taken seriously. Shame on you praire ridge! ... show more

I purchased this set for my five year old son and one year old daughter. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on a swing set but also wanted to get something that was middle of the road. I would have been satisfied with this set if it wasn't missing four pieces of wood! My handy father made it work but we are still missing three pieces. Putting it together was a nightmare and the quality of wood is not great. My father said he's felt cardboard stronger than this wood. I am looking to get the wood that I am missing, but there's no place for me to contact the seller. Not sure if I would purchase this set again even if I received all of the pieces. It looks nice. I thought I did enough research, but I'm thinking that spending the extra two hundred would have been worth it! ... show more

    • Huge mistake buying this
They didnt send all of the hardware to put it together. We had wood split before it was together. I would never buy anything like this again. I was very disappointed in this swingset. I don't think this will make a couple years before it isn't usable. This was a terrible purchase for my family.

I purchased the Prairie Ridge Swing Set all cedar for my grandkids, I ordered it on April 16, 2016. It was delivered on April 26, 2016 although due to sickness we did not get it put together until June 4, 2016. I have two small grandsons that weigh less than 60 lbs. each, when we completed the swing set they immediately started using it. The first thing I noticed was the cracking and popping of the wood on the swing set. the swing set is falling apart, support beams have split in to, screws are backing out, it is falling apart each time they play on it. We paid a lot of money for this product for it to be so cheap made. My wife and I drove 4 hours to put this set together for the grandchildren, we hadn't left yet when the problems started. Some bolts were missing, we went to a hardware store to buy bolts to finish the set. Let me assure we put the set on level ground and made sure it was square and put together correctly. My son and daughter in law have stopped the kids from playing on it due to safety concerns. I discussed the problems wit Backyard Discovery and they said they would replace the wood that was splitting apart, but I would have to pay the shipping. ... show more

    • A nice swing set and priced about right compared to other sets
A great swing set if built correctly. Don't listen to all these negative reviews about wood quality.. You're not building a house people, not sure what you expected. it's a swing set. The set will handle the weight of 3+ kids at the same time. If you're careful And don't over tighten the bolts, you won't crack the wood. If you use the included ground anchors properly, the set doesn't move or wobble at all. My set isn't sitting on level ground and doesn't move. The monkey bars section is a bit lower than the swing side because of this and I have had 0 issues so far. I was missing one nut and bolt, had to flip an extra buck and trip to Lowes. Took us two afternoons to assemble. Can't keep the kids (2 and 4) off it :) ... show more

    • Poor quality and durability
Very disappointed with the quality/durability of this product. We bought it for 3 grandchildren 2 1/2 to 7 years (50# and under), installed carefully and following all instructions, including provided ground stakes. Immediately on first use with only one child on swing, swing side structure was rocking. Ground stakes are too short, so we purchased longer ones. Still swing side was moving and causing the fort to wobble. Added 24" ground stakes and vinyl coated wire tie downs with turnbuckles. That reduced the swaying on swing side--but now need to so the same on the tower side of the swings. Also, several of the wooden vertical pickets (uprights) on the tower fell off on their own -- wood too thin for screws to seat. Had to replace screws with through bolts. Even with these modifications we don't believe this will last more than a year or so due to weak/soft wood. Do not recommend. ... show more

My husband and I read the reviews and knew what we were getting into we are overall happy and our kids love it. Shipping -3 or 4 pieces did arrive with cracks. We called the manufacturer they immediately sent us the replacement parts and also suggested staining the wood before we built it. We live in texas so we need a good sunproof and waterproof stain to make the set last longer. Assembly -We downloaded the Bilt App, found our set and it made assembly 100 times easier. Cracked wood- the wood is did crack if we didn't predrill, tightened something too tight, or if we looked at it the wrong way. But the manufacturer said they they would send us replacements If it happened during assembly. So be aware of that. Anchors- we still have to figure out how to anchor the set. The anchors they gave us don't work without backyard because it is all rock under the grass. But that isn't really the manufacturer's fault. Hardest part was the slide, and not cracking the wood. My husband and I had 2 drills, which helped speed up the process. Overall it wasn't too hard, especially using the app on my phone. The customer service at backyard discovery is amazing. Open the box, check the parts and pieces and stain the wood ahead of your build day. ... show more
