The media could not be loaded. I got this for keeping my new young Border Collie pup from roaming the house. I really like how the cat door slides up and down instead of having a swinging door. The sliding door allows you to open it up only half way, for your cat to slink through, while keeping your little dog inside. ( My other dog is 15 pounds) It was fairly easy to set up, with options for pressure mountains as well as permanent mounting. There are a few add on side bars if you need it to be wider. I've pushed on it and it seems quite sturdy. The latch is easy to use with one hand. It's nice that it swings either way and will stay open when you want it to. It's also nice to not have to step over a gate like with a regular "baby" gate. Edited to update that the little dog has figured out how to "crawl" through the cat door ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ But it still works well for the border collie. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This product is perfect for cats! We use it for our cat room so the dogs don’t get in and it works! Its opens nicely and feels pretty sturdy. They enjoy using it!

What I love the most about this product is that if you open the gate a certain amount, it actually stays open. It’s super convenient when bringing in groceries, etc. My parent’s dog, as well as our kitten, can fit through the pet door with ease (I’m so happy that it can be locked in an open position) and the bars successfully keep both of them from squeezing through to the other side. We needed a gate to keep our new dog out of the litter box in the utility room, but we didn't want our older cat to have to jump/climb over it. This is perfect. I put the cats through the door once and they all knew what to do. The door is adjustable and can even be closed. It took my husband 15-20 minutes to install and he said it was easy. As others have said, do NOT remove the zip ties before installation. To open the gate, you have to push two buttons on the handle and lift up. This is not difficult but may be a challenge to small hands (or arthritic hands). The gate swings both ways and you can open it all the way and it will stay open. If it don't open it all the way, it will close behind you. I can also gently close it to where it doesn't latch if I'm coming in and out of the room several times or have my hands full. We have four cats of varying size. Our largest is a Maine coon mix. He's older and lost weight but is still around 15 pounds. He has no issue going through the cat door. ... show more

I have ordered all the baby gates you could imagine. The retractable ones, the white one with the cat gate, and this is by far the best one I’ve purchased. Super strong and durable. Worth every penny. It doesn’t move around at all after bumping into it or anything. My very fat and tall cat can fit through the gate. I do wish it went a little higher but it’s perfect to keep my big dog out and let the cats in to eat. ... show more

We have a cat and dog in our apartment and our dog really likes getting into the litterbox. We had a covered litterbox to prevent her from getting in it, but she has figured out how to get into it again and it really upsets her stomach. I wanted something that could block off the kitchen and bathroom from out dog but still let our cat through and not be a pain for us to get through everyday. This is exactly that! It took me a minute to get it set up, but that is more due to our apartments uneven floor not the gate itself. Our cat has no problem going in and out of the cat door, and I undid the lock so all me and my husband need to do is lift up the gate a little. It is also nice that it can be propped open and also still automatically close depending on how far you open the door. I would recommend this to anyone with a similar situation.
