I must admit, I was a bit skeptical at first; but it was on sale and as a single parent, I’m very short on time. Spending 2 nights a week mowing the lawn over the summer takes a lot of time away from spending it with my kids; so I thought what the heck, at this price point, why not try it? I realize it doesn’t have some of the functions (like gps and a cell signal) like the fancy several thousand plus dollar mowers, but I live in a rather low crime area and I’m not worried much about it being stolen. And, as I discovered, it won’t work outside the boundary loop… unless you’ve accidentally switched the wires in the back of the base.. not that I did that or anything.. nope. Ok so it was a bit of a learning curve! I also discovered that you need to either bury the wire or have it reeeealllly tight to the ground, or it’ll get sliced right off. Tip for burying the boundary wire: use an edger on trench mode. You can just cruise right along and it makes a perfectly uniform cut through your lawn. Also tip: don’t try and use said edger to cut through tree roots. You’ll end up burning up the motor and having to get a new one on Facebook marketplace so you can finish your project. But once I got everything in, my robot would keep stopping and giving me hardware errors. I contacted customer service, (shout out to Hailey) and they were great! We worked back and forth to troubleshoot, and they ended up sending me a replacement one. I named him Lester II, and he works fantastic! Just goes about his business, and when he needs a recharge, he does that, and then goes back out. I was even skeptical of the random pattern.. but he covered everything.     • Great Little Mower!
This is a great little mower for the price. I bought the larger model that is supposed to cover 2/3 of an acre. I have a 1.1 acre property, but installed this to mow the large front and side portion of my yard. I did have a similar issue with the original app not working, but customer service pointed me to the current app. The Smart Life app for Android was easy to connect with this mower and schedule my mowing days/times without any issues. Since I have a larger space, this mower runs every day and it is able to keep up with my lawn for the most part. I have some patches that grow quickly after rain so I do occasionally still need to quickly mow those spots in my yard. Overall, this mower saves me over an hour each week in time. Charging the battery is cheap and I haven't noticed a difference in our electric bill. After a few months, I'm still on the original blades. Maintenance is easy, I just scrub the underside with a bottle brush from the dollar store to clean the stuck on grass and use a damp rag to wipe off the housing. My yard is healthier because it is staying trimmed. I'm bummed to see this isn't currently in stock. I want to buy another to handle the other half of my yard. Like a few others, I did contact customer service about an issue. The company was fast to respond each time - emails and phone calls - to make sure my issue was resolved. Everyone was so nice and genuinely helpful. I also wanted to mention this for the dog owners out there. I have an invisible fence for my dog. Mine is a PetSafe brand that I bought at tractor supply. There was an issue where the fence wire seemed to confuse the mower. I unplugged the fence for a minute and that resolved the issue. I haven't had an issue with it since. I would definitely recommend and buy this mower again. It is a great mower for someone who wants to keep a neat lawn and doesn't care about lines or patterns - if the yard is mowed, that's what matters to me. ... show more

Did not cut the grass well. It moved as fast as my robot vacuum when it's looking for the charger...so slow! It kept getting stuck error when there was nothing in it even in spiral mode.

UPDATE (2023.04.14): Support has been really good on this issue. AYI sent me videos on how to take the system apart to check various things and I posted YouTube videos for them to review. After a few days of these they are sending me a replacement unit. It really did work well and is an amazing deal for the cost if it will keep working. Changing to 4 stars. ORIGINAL: I started mine out on a smaller area, and it did great. I had to adjust a few things... putting up an edging around a tree and whatnot. It went so well that I decided to finish extending it to the full area I wanted it to mow. First, it behaved oddly after extending the boundary line, so I sent a support ticket just to ask if I needed to reset the device or such after making such a change. They wouldn't give me an answer over email and insisted I take an international call from China to get an answer. That was entirely unnecessary. Within 24hrs it had adjusted to the new area, so I let it go. Second (today), it started flagging a "trapped" error after a few minutes of running... repeatedly. I finally figured it out.. the gearbox is toast. So now it is a large paperweight. I'll have to see how good the support process is, but I'm not optimistic after my first experience. I'll update my review/rating after I find out how well/quickly they fix this. ... show more
