I purchased this as a gift for my wife for Christmas. We put the bike together in June (we live in the north east). During the FIRST ride my notice the peddle was hitting the kickstand. We removed the kick stand and of course all went fine until she continued to ride to notice the back break was rubbing against the wheel while riding and the back break was not working. To top it off the back wheel is wobbly which is why it is rubbing against the break. Although the seller initially appears to have a welcome to Avasta on the company address is in chinese and I can not seem to locate online. I have reached out to Amazon hoping to rectify the $300 purchase. Definitely disappointed as my wife is an big Amazon spender. :( ... show more

I'm not a bike expert, and I had not heard of this brand before. The price was good, so I gave it a shot. My 9 year old rides it every day to school, and we've not had any issues. It feels solid and has all the right features. The vertical and horizontal seat adjustment allowed me to fit it to a 5' tall kid while leaving plenty of room for her to grow. I was skeptical from the get-go because it seems Avasta is a shell company with no real customer service, but against my better judgement I bought this bike in mint because I wanted a lightweight bike and this was the price point I could afford at the time. I rode it once, on an easy paved path, and it has since fallen apart. The ball-bearings all fell out and the wheel no longer turns. The entire thing is so shoddy, just the poorest quality.
