Description

The Avalon Countertop Hot/Cold Water Cooler is made with innovation and style. The easy-to-use paddle spouts make it so much more convenient to use. Simply press your cup against the paddle to let the flow of water to come out. The machines highly efficient compressor makes the cold water crisp and ice cold at approximately 47° F without the need of adding ice cubes to your drink. The hot faucet is hot enough to cook one's tea or coffee or any other steaming hot beverage at approximately 185° F. Due to the extremely hot water, we’ve added a child safety lock on the hot water faucet. The water dispensing area measures 9x3.25x10 inches with a height of 7 inches below the spouts to accommodate most large cups and bottles. The water cooler is UL listed. The unit dimensions are 12x12x19 inches.

I am going to get one of these for my Grandson's 1st apartment & while looking through the reviews I see a number of customers having issues with leaks. The one person who tore it down to find plastic ties to secure a water connection is correct and should you run into a leak, re-visit the reviews and follow his lead on repair. I love this water cooler. I previously purchased 2 other "full size" water coolers. Neither of them could get the water very cold. This one .. it is a winner. I don't use the hot water feature but I have to believe it works as well as the cold water does.

We have had this water dispenser about 18 months now. We usually go through a 5 gallon jug a week, maybe a little more. We haven’t had a single problem with it. It quickly became one of our favorite kitchen appliances. It’s never leaked, the hot water is quickly hot and the cold water is nice and cold. I really like this water dispenser for my family room kitchenette. It produces really hot and really cold water. The only downside is that the cold water is super loud when it's on. So I try to turn it on when I'm not going to be down there then hope it stays cold for awhile. If it was in a pantry or something, I don't think it'd be a problem, but out in the open it's a very loud drone. ... show more

Ok, there's a very good number of reviews on this products saying that it leaks after a few weeks or months. And this is EXACTLY what happened to me! Woke up one morning to a very large puddle of water in my kitchen as the entire bottle of water had leaked onto the floor! Instead of returning it and just getting another defective unit, I opened up the water cooler to see exactly what was causing the leak. And I was AMAZED!!! The problem is one of sheer stupidity by the manufacturer! Look at the photos! Instead of using clamps to secure the internal piping they are using WIRE TIES! Yes, as the photos show! Absolutely amazing how stupid this is! Guaranteed to leak eventually as the wire ties stretch and the leaks start! I find it hard to believe that a manufacturer would do something this stupid just to save a few pennies! But as the first three photos show...They do! And look at the third photo - It shows the size of the wire ties. They are really too small and cheap for this application! But no self-respecting engineer would ever come up or endorse this really, really bad Guaranteed to Leak tubing "clamp" method! So what's the fix? After opening up the unit just go down to the hardware store and buy two 1" stainless steel clamps. About $1.09 apiece at Lowes. (Note: The manufacturer could probably buy these in quantity for a lot less! Pennies each! So WHY didn't they???) Cut out the wire ties and replace them with the clamps. And the problem is solved! So why didn't the manufacturer do this? Sheer idiocy? They should fire the manager(s) that came with this guaranteed to leak tubing "clamp"! And Amazon should give them a call about this too! The rest of the unit seems well made and works properly. It's working fine now! If/when this fix this stupid wire tie thing then it should be a nice quality unit. In the meantime, if you aren't a "open it up and fix it" type of person then you really need to purchase a different water cooler. I ordered the Avalon Premium Hot/Cold Top Loading Counter top Water Cooler Dispenser specifically for use with product ZeroWater ZJ-003 after speaking with customer services for both companies. I was advised that they should work together having given Avalon with minimum diameters from ZeroWater of 6inches x 6inches x 6inches and I'm glad to say they were correct. As I have just set it up today I cannot comment on day to day use of it yet, as at the time of writing this I am waiting for the water to get to temperature, however water is dispensing and I have no leaks to I would say it is a success as long as the water is hot and cold enough. I will report back once I have used it for a while but it looks promising. Edit: Since my original post I have to say I am very impressed. The cold water is cold, I’m not sure why others have said it’s not. The hot water is very hot so suitable for making on the go hot drinks. There is nothing about the product that I don’t like, it suits me perfectly and with hot and cold Zero water, what is there not to like about that?! It’s one of those, where I wonder how I survived without this setup before now. Wife happy, so am I! ... show more

When I first got this water dispenser, it didn’t make the water cooler more than a degree or two from room temperature. However, I remembered reading a review that said to adjust the thermostat in the back. So I took a screwdriver and removed the coils and the black back cover and there’s like a screw-like thermostat that you adjust with a straight screwdriver. I ended up turning all the way down. And within an hour or so the water was so cold and perfect. The user manual says that its Set up to 47 F which to warm. ... show more
