Top Amazon Reviews

  • A best option
Color: Advanced-White
I did a lot of searching and review reading before I made this purchase. I got what I expected and I thought I'd share my experience so far. There were a few key features that had me make this purchase. First was that this model lets you program the watering time in seconds. Others only allow minutes. Depending on how large your plants are, minutes can be too much. Second was that it didn't have a WiFi option. Most may think "wow that would be awesome". I don't. First I want this to last a long time. Adding on WiFi is just more hardware that can eventually fail and render this useless. Also on the WiFi, I can't honestly come up with a scenario, as shown in some of the marketing photos, where I need to be adjusting my watering time, or schedule, while I am walking down a city street. I'd want to see why I need to make a change, then I'd want to be sure I got it right and I don't come home to dried out plants or a wet floor. This unit was the best choice for me. Where it lost one star: 1) The programming on it is a bit quirky when you start the first time, but as other reviews share, you can figure it out. 2) The drip units "watering stakes" are ok, the T connectors are a bit on the thin side. This was my biggest concern. 3) The manual reads as if it is from someone that bought one and gave a detailed review. Seeing " I think" in a manual seems odd. Reading the reviews I expected #1 & #2 and they were correct. So this is what I did. I went through set up using the manual. On the first try I got my watering duration and schedule set. It was easy. Getting it to run on the schedule took a second try. When I purchased this unit, I also bought an add-on dripper package from a competitor. This competitor package had slightly bulkier hose Ts which makes me feel more confident nothing will come apart. Also the new drippers are actually valves you can adjust. There are 2 benefits here. First you can adjust the amount of water based on the size of the pot/plant. Second if you have a long run of hose, the last plant may get less water if all the drippers are the same. Using valves you can adjust them to even out your water flow much better. Long review, but I hope it helps. Would I buy this again? Absolutely. I have no regrets and I knew what to expect. I can accurately set my water times, the unit has all the features I need, and I can adjust the water flow on every plant individually. If Moistenland could bulk up the Ts and look at other drip options, they would have no competition. ... show more

  • A capable watering product, but terrible instructions
Color: Standard-Grey
Was testing this for my lovely tree to water from 5gal jug while away 2 months. Doesn't require alot of water, but has to be reliable. So this is only a single watering tube. The instructions are written in terrible english and very hard to understand, so I was testing for a few days with a bucket before. Worked fine once I figured it out, very quiet when running. Be sure to make the plants higher than the pump or else it will siphon/drip and I had a mild overflow until I figured this out. Instructions unclear about this. Once I raised the watering tube higher in tree, it was fine. Water source was lower than the pump, plants go higher. ... show more

  • so far, so good
Color: Advanced-White
It's a pretty straightforward set-up: a battery and/or usb-powered pump (peristaltic?) with lots of 1/4" aquarium tubing and fittings and an LCD controller to set watering time and intervals. Some observations: (1) to use the usb cord, you need to supply your own plug; it seems like it wouldn't have been a big deal to include one (which needs to be dedicated 24/7). (2) plastic spikes and joiners don't seem to be of the best quality, but so far, are working. (3) insert the tubing as far as possible onto the fittings (use hot water to soften, if you must)- the spikes in particular can leak if the tubing isn't inserted far enough (this is also where a stiffer/better quality plastic would be good). (4) the spikes appear to drip water from multiple spots, including pretty high up the stake; therefore, for smaller pots/plants, you may need to insert the spike at an angle to prevent water from spraying outside the pot. Will see how our plants look after being away on vacation! ... show more

  • Plant watering
Color: Advanced-White
I purchased this system to water 2 plants while we were away for 2 weeks. It was easy to set up but figuring out how much it actually watered for a particular set-up required a test run. It seemed to work but when I returned all the water was gone and the plants seemed to be over watered. The second try I reduced the water flow and it seemed to work better. Best to do a couple of test runs before you leave. ... show more

  • Very helpful for vacation
Color: Advanced-White
Ok setting it up was a bit hard (but only because we had to figure out how we wanted to lay out the tubes). Cutting the tubes wasn’t hard, and the tip to use hot water to make it easier to insert the tubes to the tips was a lifesaver. The instructions themselves tell you to avoid the siphoning effect (which is what a lot of reviews complain about. Not sure if they added that AFTER the reviews or they don’t read instructions lol). I did have problems on the first cycle but I did cheat by tipping the water suction tube to pass the water in the tube into the device… BAM! Me playing around helped the machine start suctioning. So it’s definitely a great buy. ... show more

  • It does the job
Color: Standard-Grey
Set up is easy, directions aren't great. Make sure to have the unit above the water source or you'll syphon the water source and drown the plants. Get the job done just fine.

  • DIY AUTO DRIP WATERING
Color: Advanced-White
I bought one of it to water orchids for some time and it worked well. But now I have total 3 of them. Two of them use a 5 gallons bucket to water several more water demanding plants and it gave me a peace of mind when traveling.

  • Works as advertised
Color: Advanced-White
It works, but I recommend using a heat gun or at least a blow dryer to unbend the tubing before use.
