I'm pleasantly surprised at the cool features this door has. It's metal construction, not flimsy plastic. You can program it to open and close by either time of day or the light level, or a combination of both. You can program it to open by time of day and close by time of day, open by time and close by light level, open by light level and close by time of day, or open and close by light level. It has an LCD screen with plenty of information on it including the current time of day. It has a value on the screen that shows the current light level. So if the current sunlight conditions are what you want the door to open or close at, just look at the current light level on the screen and program in that number. The remote control works from quite a distance away. My house is about 75 feet from the coop and I can open and close the chicken door through my living room window using the remote. In the pic, I put an arrow pointing to the living room window and an arrow pointing to the chicken door. So far, I'm pleased with this door.

I returned this. I honestly could not put this on my coop. I am too afraid of a hen getting caught by the door. It says it has an anti crush sensor in it but man I put my hand in it to test it when the door was coming down and it crushed my hand before it stopped!! I refuse to use it. It will cause harm to a hen if they get caught in it. There is no doubt in my mind about that!! It needs to be A LOT more sensitive to a bird getting caught in it and not push so hard and ALSO it NEEDS to put the door back up to uncrush the bird. Which it does not do! It just sits there pushed against you. I love my birds too much to take a chance on something that could possibly hurt them. Now for the other features: they are pretty good. The sensor worked good and I like the fact you could use either time or light to open and close or a combination of both. That I liked about it. I DO NOT recommend this at all!!

The media could not be loaded. This is such a great help for me and my flock! It was delivered on Tuesday evening and had it installed the next morning. It was pretty easy and straightforward, it has a manual and has 4 types of settings for automatic door opening and closing, I used the T-T means I set up the time to open and close the door. I was skeptical at first of how it might work but glad I went to try to purchase one for my chicken as it gets too cold to be out in the morning to open the chicken door at this time of the year. Supposedly rated for cold and summer temp. So far, it has been working well for me and chickens are out on a timely manner as programmed. Night time closing works as it should be, but I still go check the run to make sure all the chicken and ducks are in the coop prior to closing. I will do my best to update post if how long the door holds up to the weather and functions. Pros: Really easy to set up. Programming the time is easy as well. Seems built solid metal door to prevent predators. Built-in sensor if a chicken get caught as the door closes, with enough pressure the door senses it and will go up or open and will resume at least 20secs after. Remote helps great if incase you need to use it. Approximately 20-25ft distance anything beyond that it’ll not work. Remote is solid. Solar-powered so no need for any extension power chord to connect. Cons: You have to ensure when installing that all sides will be level. Hand tight screw in all sides, not too tight or the door will not close right if it senses tight pressure on the sides (door will keep trying to close and keep opening if not corrected).

One say it snowed and the chickens got stuck inside for a day, no big deal, the coop is way over sized and has a heating pad... they were comfortable.

The media could not be loaded. I Just installed this onto my chicken coop two nights ago, and I'm already in love. It makes it so easy for me to protect the chickens. I used to worry every night that I would have be home to shut the coop door before the sunset, but now I just set it and forget it.

The media could not be loaded. I had tested this door for several days after receiving it by laying it on an outside table, next to another automatic door. It seemed to run fine, although it did reverse and close maybe 1/2" after opening. I thought that half an inch was not a deal breaker. Today, I installed this door and once it is standing up, that half inch becomes an inch and a half. Frankly that is horrible. The other door I have is a cheap $16 plastic one I purchased directly from China and it does not have this problem. That one opens all the way up and stays completely open. I have some rather large roosters that live in that coop. Yes, they can still get inside but losing inch and a half of the door opening is a problem. Worst yet, few days ago, I had ordered 3 more of these and now I have to decide if I should keep them or send them back. No happy about this.
