Clucktech automatic chicken coop door This chicken coop door works great. We love the ability to set the time for the coop door opens and closes. Give us more flexibility where we put the door. Either attached to the coop itself. Or we can attach it to their run so they can free range late in the afternoon instead of from dusk to dawn The instructions were not very clear so the app was a little hard to set up at first. Finally got it figured out and seems to work great. Although I don't seem to get the alerts when the predator alarm goes off. The anti-trap feature is nice. I do wish there was a "last call" feature. That's when the coop door reopens for about 30 seconds about 5 minutes after it originally closes. This allows any late stragglers to get inside the coop. Solar panel cord is plenty long which again gives us more mounting options Pros Flexibility of setting times you want the door to open and to close. App - can run multiple doors independently of each other Predator alarm - pretty loud. Should scare of anything trying to get into the door Camera - pictures are very clear color and night vision Overall look and feel of the door seems like good quality Cons - Predator alarm, in my option, needs to sound for a longer time Direction for setting up the app and connection the door to WiFi was hard to understand. Overall door size might be a little tight for some of the larger breeds to squeeze through. I am very happy with this product and would rate it a 9 out of 10.

I would not recommend this product. I tried to make it work. I tried to just go with it but now we hit the last straw. From the beginning the app had trouble connecting to the door and would require a few tries before it would connect but eventually it would. After a few weeks of use and while I was away for about a day or two I couldn’t connect at all. The issues then got worse as it said it was low on so we took the battery out and plugged it thinking maybe because we had had a few cloudy days this was the issue the we put the battery back fully charged and connected to the solar panel and the next day although the previous day had been sunny it started to say low power again. Since we were going away again we decide to just run an extension cord out to the coop and connect it directly to power. When we came back we again tried connecting to just the solar panel while we had sunny hot days and nothing it would still say low power so we figured something went wrong with the solar panel or wire or something even though it had been placed in a secure place above and outside the coop and every part of it appeared intact. As time went on the issue with connectivity with the app continued but like I said I just rolled with it. Now it started to say low battery even though it was plugged to a source that gave it power about 4 hours a day on a timer and it wouldn’t connect to the app. I brought it inside to charge in case something was wrong with the power cord outside. I left it charging all day and once I brought it outside and turned it back on it connected to the app for a minute and it still said low battery and now it again doesn’t want to connect at all. I tried to attach a video to show what the app is doing. In the video I go in and out of the app because that is how I used to get it to work in the past but now nothing! I uploaded screen shots of part of the video to show the app and how it’s not responding. I’m assuming the battery is not good anymore after just a couple of months of use. The app connectivity and the battery life span are unacceptable from a product at this price point. I wish I could still return it or for the manufacturer to at least make it right and replace the battery. I should have listened to others who said it had issues with connectivity but I hoped it was a fluke. I should have known better. If I hear anything from manufacturer I will come back and update my review.

Really cool door. Fits nice. Easy to install. Has remote and easy app. Only issue is I wish there was a way to tell on the app whether the door was open or closed. The camera faces outward so it doesn't help in any way. If only the app could say door is open or door is closed it would be a big help!!! Otherwise I love it!! Battery only last one day and solar panel doesn't work at all so it need to be directly plugged in all the time.

After trying two other automatic chicken doors that broke within months, I was skeptical about buying another one but this one has completely blown me away. The build quality is outstanding; it feels solid and well-engineered. I especially love that it’s solar-powered, which means I don’t have to worry about running cables or changing batteries all the time. The app setup was smooth, and the interface is intuitive I can check the live camera feed anytime to make sure my flock is safe. The door opens right at sunrise and closes perfectly after sunset, even on cloudy days. It’s been through wind, rain, and even a mild snowstorm, and it hasn’t missed a single cycle. If you’re serious about keeping your chickens safe without losing your sanity waking up early every day this is the one. Worth every penny!

I love love love this item so much more than I ever thought I could. Sometimes the app gets a little laggy is my only complaint but the item is so great I love love love the sturdiness of this item. I feel confident now at night that my chickens are safe and sound instead of constantly checking my cameras or having to run out during the night. I had the easiest time assembling the item I just had to cut I tiny piece of wood to seal a gap. The door is so neat how it opens up like a garage door. Most open too high or side to side but this door opening is perfect and just right in its size as far as height and widened without being overkill. I love this item sooooo much. I also have set up timers so if I want to sleep in I can and Rocky and the gang can wake up at 6 still to play and if I get stuck at work I know I can just close it from afar:)

The door was great until it ran out of battery and i tried charging and the battery just doesn't seem to hold power as others have said...Side note the app is a pain to set up but once you've got it going its okay.

Mine had a door defect and it wouldn't quite open all the way. This made it go into anti-pinch mode every time it closed. It would rebound every time and close again, pushing twice before cutting of. Battery life was only two days and needed constant charging. Solar panel was not enough to restore overnight drain. Wifi range was only about 30 feet and would need an extender that uses 120VAC. Required too much monitoring for me. I liked the idea and app.

UPDATE: Seller contacted me to help troubleshoot, replace the battery, etc. even offered a replacement or refund. You just need patience. At first this chicken door seemed like it would be a dream come true. Making tending to my chickens, very easy and easing my mind with its video capabilities and alarms. Then i started having problems… At first, it was just connectivity issues where the camera wouldn’t work with my phone. It would time out and not show me anything and then it would tell me to request service. All of a sudden the battery stopped charging from the solar panel, so I tried manually charging the battery and that wouldn’t work. Have fun trying to find a replacement battery for this. Eventually, the door stopped opening and closing on its own.
