We were happy to make life better for our 2 chickens. This door was easy to install, good price but unfortunately ours didn't work. It has new batteries, and will try to close but stops near the bottom and quits. The screen then goes blank. This happens each time we tried using it. I would return it but I threw out the box thinking it would work just fine.

Opened and closed with manual function after installation, but failed to open first morning. I tried to do manual method to open to let my chickens out but it wouldn't work. I can see the fear turning but won't engage the door to move more than 1/2" then stops even trying after 2 seconds. Tried manual button to close but still the same thing. Uninstalled and returning already on day after install.

As an avid poultry owner (if you have chickens, you know this means I am an expert in chicken math), the Automatic Chicken Coop Door has significantly streamlined my daily routine while ensuring the safety and comfort of my breeder chickens. I was previously using a hinged swinging door that I had designed to raise manually during my morning feeding rounds. Unfortunately, the winter weather had different ideas, and my great design failed due to swollen wood and an uncooperative pull rope. **Pros:** 1. Effortless to Use: You can't say enough good things about how easy this automatic door is to use. It makes things easier to use by getting rid of the problems that come with solar systems. The built-in timer makes it easy to set, so you can change the opening and closing times to fit your needs. The timer completely eliminated the stress of getting right to the coop door at a specific time. 2. Construction: This door stands out because it is made of 100% metal and is very durable. In contrast to other plastic models I've tried, it is made to survive the winter weather conditions and keep the skunks and coyotes out. Regardless of whether it is put in a big or small chicken coop, it looks like it will work really well. **Cons:** I have had the auto coop door for several weeks, and as of today, I haven't found a con to the door. The door looks good, protects my chickens from weather and predators, and lets me be lazy every once in a while when getting out to my coops at night.

This Automatic Chicken Coop Door has been a nice and pleasantly surprising addition to our flock. Setting it up was a breeze, and its user-friendly design allows for straightforward set it and forget it type of install. The timer and LED display are quite nice and easy to read. I also like how the parts seem waterproof, so it should last quite a while. The motor whirring during operation is also not too bad. Again, the value for what you get is actually decent, and I felt the need to upgrade coop security. This also makes your daily chores that much easier.

An automatic chicken door is life changing for poultry owners, and this one is an affordable version we've been waiting for. The pros are that it is super easy to set up. If you already have a compatible door hole, just screw the auto door in place and program the times. It's predator resistant in a way that a string hanging door could never be, but it can be pulled up with firm pressure from the bottom hole. I'll be covering that small hole to deter that possibility. The material is mainly ABS and aluminum alloy. I suggest cutting the door hole a few inches up from the bottom of the floor to prevent bedding from getting in the way of closure. Ideally, have another opening in the coop for clean-out purposes. If the door gets stuck from debris, the instructions say that it can be pulled out of the top and realigned. The company says the controls can be out in the weather. If you want to possibly extend the life of this or any electric door, place it under an over hang, if possible. The only cons I see to this door is that the hours programmed should be changed a few times a year, while that is unnecessary with a light-level activated door, which usually cost more. Get yourself an automatic door and gain some peace of mind, and maybe a little extra sleep.

This Smart Animal Automatic Door is just what I was hoping it would be, plain and simple. The installation is straightforward as is the intuitive programming. Sure, it came with a relatively concise 4 x 6 inch piece of paper explaining how to install everything as well as how to set its timers and where to put the 3 AA batteries I needed to supply it with, but the device was so basic I was able to figure all that out without reading the paper once. The door itself opens smoothly with a very quiet hum. Everything about it feels well made, which is great since I plan on using it within a rabbit hutch around at times skittish animals. I especially like the water proof gasket in the battery housing compartment that gives me hope this will last a while. Definitely a nice find. Now if only I could train my rabbits to return to their hutch on their own at night. But hey, at least first thing in the morning they can be free and I can sleep those few extra minutes...
