This chicken coop door is set to open at 7am and close at 7 pm. It works fine most of the time but will not open when the morning temperature gets down to 30 degrees F. (The operator manual states the door should work down to 5 degrees F). When this happens I have to open the door with the manual buttons. On the days that the door doesn’t open it will close early and lock out the chickens. The battery is fully charged so Not sure why the cold weather is an issue. May return it before the return date expires. No way to contact seller for help. Update 2/18/2024: seller contacted me and was willing to refund price of item if I return it even after the return window closed. Very nice and courteous people. However, I removed and reinstalled the door to make sure the door was nice and flat against the coop opening. The door now has been working perfectly since… even when the temperature dropped to 20 degrees F. Happy with this door and would buy again. ... show more

Where has this door been my whole chicken life? Lol It is so easy to install and use is a breeze. So very convenient, i do not know how i managed before. My hens are very accepting to their new door and access ablution is unbelievable. It is top quality, makes virtually no noise at all when opening and functionality is amazing. No need to go out when I forget to close up the coop when it is raining which those here in the PNW know, is all the time. Lol ... show more

    • Not flawless but so far so good
The only issue so far is that once it caught something on the way it backs off by 2 inch (which is good) but then it stop following the setup schedule ( which means won’t try open and close on next cycle) unless manually triggered This would be problematic if u r not physically around

I fully charged the battery before installing and the solar panel is connected and in the sun. The construction seems pretty flimsy, but would likely keep an animal out. The door moves quite slowly when it's moving as though the battery is dying. Not sure why, but it won't close at all. You can see the attempts in the attached video. Returning to get a better quality chicken coop door that actually closes. ... show more

Working very well so far. Seems a bit on the small side, but that is probably a good thing for keeping larger predators and weather out of the coop. The solar charger seems a very good compliment to its overall convenience and function. I've had this for a year now. It's been really great having this. It's withstood all of the elements nature could throw at it and it's still functioning. The settings are easy to use and the device has not failed once. I'm sure my chickens would also give it 5 stars. It's a little small though. Don't get this for Geese or Turkeys. ... show more

I caught it on sale, but spend the money. It’s worth it. Very easy to install and program. The solar panel and battery pack are nice to have since we don’t have a power source near our coop.

    • It’s great when it works.
Loved it until it stopped working. We are 6 months in and my chickens are getting locked in or out of the coop bc it’s not opening. And the manual setting to get it open is no longer working either.
