This is a great feeder at a great price so even those on a budget or who need multiple can get one. It came well packaged. It's an easy set up despite what others may say. Just gotta read the directions. It works perfect. I love the back up battery or that you can use it where there isn't an outlet. Wish it had a couple more times you could set it to feed (it has 4) but for the price it's a minor complaint and I knew that when I bought it. I like that you can record a message and it has clear audio. You can make a pretty long one and you can make it loud if you want by getting really close or just back up a bit to make it quieter. The media could not be loaded. Where to start! I have only had this for almost a week and I’m so happy I bought this product! I have two cats and visit family most weekends that is 5hours away. So there are times when I’m gone for days and always had to find someone that could hopefully feed my babies. And then I thought a product like this. And this is such a great investment. Super super easy to set up. You can either plug it into a wall outlet or if you’re like me and don’t have one by the feeding area, then it also takes 3 D batteries and that can last up to 6 months maybe more! The reservoir on top holds A LOT of food. My cats eat twice a day and you can set specific times they are fed and how much they fed. It’s done by portions. For my two cats I found that 6-7 portions gets them by perfectly in between feedings. Also in the mornings when I’m getting ready for work I don’t have to worry about feeding them and can spend more time getting ready. Very great quality and the food never gets stuck! The set is really easy if you follow the directs, hardest part is getting the right portions out for your cats! My only complaint would be the fact you can’t adjust the volume for the voice recording and it’s really loud in the morning when their breakfast is being served. I was concerned because I only feed my cat 1/8 cup twice a day but the 1 portion is perfect!! We bought to use when we were away but now use it daily because it's so worry free! And she doesn't bug us for her feedings! I have not tried her bigger oral care food in it as my daughter said it broke her feeder ( a differedt brand), so now she gets those as treats and loves it! ... show more

This is perfect for us. We are a 1 petite-cat family, so we needed very tiny portions. This is perfect. You can set up to 4 feeding times per day, and the portion sizes are very broad, from enough for multiple cats to just a few morsels for our tiny cat. It includes a voice message that you can record that plays out when the food comes; that is of dubious use, the food falling down in louder.     • Started making a terrible loud buzzing sound!
The media could not be loaded. Bought this at the very end of September and it was great. Then last night started making a terrible, loud buzzing noise any time it would dispense food! I’ve tried all the trouble shooting tricks but can’t figure out what’s going on or how to fix it. Very bummed

    • Not perfect but pretty close - Needs Empty Indicator!
Update: Why is there not some type of indicator that the feeder is empty? After using this feeder for a month and thinking it was successful - I just discovered purely by chance that our kitten has not been getting fed because the feeder was completely empty and we don't know for how long. PLEASE ADD A LIGHT OR SOME TYPE OF INDICATOR TO ADD FOOD! The lid is completely dark, you cannot see if there's food or not until you open it. So while this feeder is a good solution it remains imperfect - I recommend setting a reminder somewhere else to check and add food every 2-3 weeks to avoid this issue. We recently got a new kitten so I ordered this feeder since our older cat has an automatic feeder. The first one I received did not work at all but Amazon easily replaced it and the new one arrived Sunday and is working fine. I ordered this one instead of the same one our older cat has because it was half the price. So it’s reasonable to me that the container holds half as much food. It was more difficult to set up than the other feeder in some ways and easier in other ways. When it goes off the voice recording is quite loud. Loud enough to be heard on the other side of the house from the feeder. I find the lock unnecessary. The buttons are kind of difficult to push for a human, with thumbs, I can’t imagine any animal being able to do the buttons to get food dispensed. The top coming all the way off is a plus because you may occasionally need to clean crumbs from inside the canister and the lid being off will make that easier. The lid is a bit difficult to remove but that could be a plus for persistent animals who would knock it over to get more food. The battery backup is nice for power outages or other mishaps. The other feeder we have also has a place for batteries and it gives peace of mind if we are on vacation. I think this feeder is a good value for the money and could easily work for cats or small dogs. ... show more
