  • Basic, bulletproof, reliable torque wrench.
Style: 1/2" Dr. Beam Style (0-150 ft/lbs)
If you are taking something apart and don't know the torque for re-assmbling it, you can use this when loosening a bolt to get a pretty good idea what the bolt is torqued at. I also like using these instead of the click-type wrenches because you can see the target torque coming up as you tighten the bolt. You also never have to worry about missing the slight "click" of the click-type wrench and then over-torque something. This is pretty bulletproof. It's accurate enough for most routine applications and gets the job don. This also doesn't have those little delicate internal springs that the clicker type wrenches have that go out of calibration or act weird in really cold conditions. This type of design was used to build machinery like old tractors and steam engines that are still in use 100 or more years later. Sometimes simplier is better. ... show more

  • Torque wrench said hold my beer
Style: Torque Wrench (100-600 ft/lbs)
I needed a bigger torque wrench for tightening bolts and tow balls on some hitches. I figured it would do well for some heavy duty truck applications At first, I thought this beast would be overkill, but I had an idea to prove this was a good buy. After struggling to tighten 260 ft/lbs using a 1/2 inch drive torque wrench, I pulled this monster out of the case and it looked at me straight in the eyes and said, hold my beer! It then proceeded to torque down the same bolts like they weren't even there. Any questions? I replied, no further questions, Mr. Torque Wrench, sir, and undoubtedly you will have no problems torquing hitch balls in excess of 400 ft./lbs. or greater. But seriously, I like that this 3/4 drive torque wrench can torque in both directions. The ABS plastic case is good quality, has a carrying handle, plus the four snaps keep it from opening and falling out. The price point is just perfect. In fact when I purchased it was on sale plus a coupon that save some extra cash. I honestly don't have a guess whether this torque wrench would survive the daily abuse in a shop, but this is not a tool that I'd be afraid of putting to work. Two thumbs up. I'm glad I bought this. ... show more

  • If accurate this is a good deal
Style: Torque Wrench (100-600 ft/lbs)
I bought this to do a specific job. A front hub bearing on a ford truck. I have 1/2 inch and 3/8 drive torque wrenches already but the half inch one only goes to 250LbFt and the nut holding the bearing on requires almost 300lbft. I looked at a couple of other options such as getting a multiplier, but this was the best option for me since it would not require using math to get the correct torque and it would be potentially smoother than a gear type multiplier in operation. The other thing I considered was the drive portion itself that the socket actually fits on. There is a reason most half inch drive torque wrenches are limited to about 250lbft and that is the square drive portion has a tendency to twist off when you start going past that. Most torque wrenches are most accurate in the middle of their range and while the setting I needed was towards the lower end of the range, it was not all the way at the end so I felt comfortable that it would get the torque in the allowable range for my needs. I can not speak to the actual accuracy of this wrench since I have not had it tested, but the job went well and nothing has broke from being too loose or tight and it has been over two months as of this review since I did the job. ... show more

  • Good product. Works great.
Style: Torque Multiplier Lug Nut Tool
Rubber handle was not attached when it was delivered. And i cannot get it to go on or stay on. No locking balls to hold any of it together. Handle and sockets fall off easily.

  • This works great
Style: Torque Multiplier Lug Nut Tool
The lug nuts on my motorhome are torqued to 475 ft-lbs. This tool takes them right off. My only complaint is the case is cheap thin plastic that won't stay shut. But that is a insignificant thing compared to the overall utility of the tool. It is worth every cent I paid.

  • Good price but not accurate
Style: Torque Wrench (100-600 ft/lbs)
New to big trucks, so wasn't sure what 500 foot pounds felt like on a lug nut, but just did a trailer and knew we were putting more than 200. Got a 1/2" drive torque wrench and confirmed, not only is it inconsistent it is putting too much on it all the time. Did not test my concerns within the one month return window... will try the manufacturer and let you know how they respond. At this point--- you might want to spend more on a different one. UPDATE- They were willing to take it past the warranty,if I mailed it in, and they would fix or replace it, but I just read the reviews.... can't believe I bought it with the ones that had similar experiences as mine, maybe I missed them. Kudos to them for being willing to stand behind it, but I need reliability. It's unsafe to grossly over torque lugs. ... show more
