The media could not be loaded. When I first got the machine, it was working great, after a few months, some noises were coming out, but still ice was being made, now, it says add water, but the machine is full of water, but still not producing ice, what a disappointment....No vendor to contact

PROS: It was easy to clean and set up for first time use. It makes ice very fast. It isn't loud. It doesn't take up the whole counter in my camper. The ice doesn't have a funny taste. CONS: The ice starts melting almost right after it's made. I have to empty it after 1 or two dumps or else it just gets watery. It only makes enough ice for about a 16 oz drink at a time. Probably wouldn't be a good purchase if you plan on using it for drinks at a party. It will serve my purpose just fine, since I can harvest each batch and transfer it immediately to the freezer. I have figured out that I can turn it on when I know I'm gonna be in the camper so I can be sure to transfer the ice to my freezer. I got about a gallon bag of ice in just a couple of hours. Overall, it pretty much does what it claims and I think it's an ok value for the money. ... show more

I rented a house that had a refrigerator and no ice maker so going to the store every 3 days to buy ice or so became cumbersome. After reading the reviews on this little ice maker - I decided to take the plunge. So far I love it. It was super simple to set up and use. Just fill it with water and turn it on. Things you need to know is that it only makes about 1/3 cup at a time but it makes that amount approx. every 10 minutes. The first batch or two are not quite as frozen as the ones that follow. It takes about 4-5 hrs for me to fill up a 3" x 13" plastic container so you won't be able to throw a party and not have ice on hand. I live by myself so it works for me and if I know I'm going to be home - I take an evening and just make ice while doing other things and that lasts me 3-4 days. I have had this unit for about 6 months now, as the reviews say the ice melts fast in the basket. However, we live in an apartment with an older fridge that has no ice maker. With a large family that consumes a lot of ice, we use this as a rapid ice maker. It can fill 2 ice trays in an hour and a half. We drop the ice 2-3 of the large pieces in the trays, put them in the freezer to freeze the damp surface of the ice, then dump them in an ice bucket (a bit bigger than an ice cream tub). Rinse and repeat until the ice bucket is full and that lasts us a few days. It is a bit noisy though tolerable. ... show more

The item arrived several days ago. I allowed it to sit for 24 hours as per instructions and then filled it with Smart Water. The unit has a choice of large or small-sized ice. I chose the large size, which turns out to be fairly small. That works fine for me. The production of ice seemed slower than others have reported. That works fine for me, as well. I am the only one in the household, so I don't need masses of ice. As each basket of ice is filled, I empty it into a sandwich bag and place it in the freezer. When used, it is necessary to bang the bag against the counter, as the bullet-shaped cubes have frozen together. That works for me as well. Since my kitchen is quite small, the unit is placed in the laundry area on top of the washing machine. The noise level is very quiet. Thus far, l am satisfied with this unit. I HAVE USED THIS MACHINE NOW FOR MONTHS ON END, IT RUNS MANY TIMES DAY AND NIGHT AND IT PERFORMS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED! I WILL SAY MY GIRLFRIENDS SISTER BOUGHT THIS EXACT MODEL AND SHE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH HERS SO MAYBE THAT WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT OTHERWISE THIS PRODUCT DEFINITELY GETS THE JOB DONE! IT IS A BIT NOISY, I HAVE IT PLACED APPROXIMATELY 60FT FROM MY BEDROOM AND I CAN HEAR IT RUNNING AND DROPPING ICE AT NIGHT BUT IT'S NOT TERRIBLE! IT'S EXTREMELY SIMPLE TO USE AND THE ICE TASTES GREAT! WE'VE ACTUALLY MADE KOOL AID ICE CUBES WITH IT AND THOSE ARE A NICE LITTLE SUMMERTIME TREAT FOR THE KIDS! ... show more

Best results are with distilled water. I am very happy with this machine. I simply discovered the hard way that tap water will cause buildup of calcium and such on sensors. We have cats and dogs, and their fur got sucked into the machine and caused it to malfunction. Cleaning the machine was very easy. The screws weren't exotic where you need star-shaped or triangle-shaped screwdrivers just a simple everyday Phillip's head was sufficient. I watched a couple YouTube videos and figured out quickly how to clean it. Please note that the need for frequent cleaning is based on my household and our furry critters and nothing to do with the manufacturer. ... show more
