  • Fully Adjustable carburetor - Worked very well
Wow! What a difference. I love that this is fully adjustable. When you have differing horsepowers that need the fine tuning this carburetor worked great! I used this on a 10hp Tecumseh. Out of the box it worked well, but i was able to fully adjust the carburetor and governor, which is why it runs so well. There is a great youtube video on how to adjust the carburetor from eliminator performance that shows you how to adjust it. The video is detailed and very well done. Highly recommended to spend a few more dollars and get this adjustable carburetor. ... show more

  • Easy install works like OEM
Works great. Direct fit and as good as OEM. May have to adjust the main jet (screw on bottom) if engine won't start or runs rough.

  • No adjustment needed.
I bolted it on and it fired right up. My snowblower idles now. The price was great.

  • It worked
This fit a 8 HP Murry snowblower with a Techumseh engine, early 80s model. Bolted on and snow blower work good with this carburetor. The carb does not have a idle set screw tab like the original Tecumseh carb but, I could set the idle down with the run lever and it idled good enough. This carb is not comparable to a real Tecumseh carb quality wise...but, 13.00 and it works. I ran thru 2.5 foot of snow for an hour test out.. I'd buy another same replacement carb again, if this carb gave me issues. I just may do that and put one on the shelf as backup. ... show more

  • Excellent quality and very attractive price.
Excellent fit on a 1970s Tecumseh 8HP snow blower. I did have to swap the choke shaft from my antique machine. Adjustments we close and started first pull.

  • Fantastic Restoration
Once upon a time, Tecumseh had the best snowblower engines around. They started and ran well and moved tons of snow. If it was extremely cold or the gas was left over from lawnmower season it might hunt a bit but a tiny tweak on the main jet screw straightened it right out. Now, up and down the street, I hear snowblowers either hunting or chugging with the choke half on so it would run at all. All this because someone in Washington decided that something you use for 2 or 3 hours a year will destroy the planet if you can correct the mixture. You can tell the non adjustable carburetor easily, the snowblower is on the curb free or someone is suffering out in the snow running it with the choke on. I got a great deal on an old Murray which was newer and in better shape than my other old Murray. They last forever because they accumulate few hours. Sitting out the summer is harder on them than moving snow. It ran good when I tested it in the fall, but snow time it was hard to start and hunted. So I had to use the other one. That was last winter. This winter I wanted to use the newer one so I found this carb that restores the original mixture screws. I installed it and it started right up. I adjusted the high and low speed screws and it runs like new. and if it doesn't, I can tweak for the conditions and it will. I'm sure many go to the landfill in the interest of ecology. Too bad those NA carbs probably killed Tecumseh. ... show more

  • Okay replacement with some work
The Good: They are cost effective replacements for older snow blowers and other small engines. A no brainer. They offer adjustability where there was none before. The Not So Good: These carbs have poor machining of the throttle shaft fit into carb body and mine required some re-work. I have had two and they both suck air around the top of their throttle shafts which are loose in their bores. I returned the first before I realized what was going on. The replacement did the same thing causing an uneven running engine. They allow un metered air into the intake stream causing surging and hunting and an impossible to set up engine. After I realized that (testing with a can of carb cleaner while running) I modified the second unit I received by installing a repair part on top of the throttle shaft to seal it. to do so I had to remove the butterfly and slide the throttle shaft out and insert a throttle shaft repair seal on top of the throttle shaft bore (this is a band aid fix for an older worn out carb). Reassemble and machine runs better (not 100%...still has small air leak) but I was able to set it up to run right. I would pay a few more $$ for better machining ... show more
