  • One Solid Construction Basket
Size: 53.5" x 44.6" x 5"
This product is quite well made and is in one piece. The faring is already attached and is blank so that you can add your own decals or flair to make it yours. The hardware is a little tall for the type of rail system I have, but should fit well for Toyota or systems that have flat bars that are closer to the vehicle roof. Very sturdy construction. Seller is in USA and that’s a big bonus. Quick shipping from seller. The paint is thick and not cheap like some other racks I’ve seen in this price point. Very happy with this purchase for a Porsche Cayenne. Looks sharp. ... show more

  • A ONE-PIECE design...Perfect!
Size: 53.5" x 44.6" x 5"
After looking at many cargo roof racks, I found, based on the reviews, this to be a good choice. I am more pleased with this rack now that I've got it, and on the vehicle. What I LOVE most is the fact that it's a one-piece design; nothing to put together, with exception of the mounting brackets, and shield (very easy to install). Most of these roof racks are of a 2-piece design, which increases the chances of water getting into the tubing, and allowing rust to form. I inspected the welds, and found 'em to be very clean, and professionally done; I couldn't find a way water would get in. The paint job was beautiful, however, I did add another coat of Rustoleum paint (spray-on) for added paint life. I figured since it was clean, new, and dry why not...it was easy. The mounting hardware is very good, and very easy to install. The front shield was also easy to put on, but I recommend adding a second (locking) nut, to prevent the fasters from getting loose, and possibly allowing your shield to fly off. You can take one of the shield bolts to the hardware shore to match. This thing is beefy, and fit perfectly atop my old Toyota 4Runner. I found it to be just what I wanted, and a great value too!!! ... show more

  • Excellent initial impression
Size: 53.5" x 44.6" x 5"
We haven't had any long distance trips yet but my initial impression is very good. One piece construction is great, seams appear well done, it's a good weight, feels indestructible, and if tightened down correctly there is no way it will move. Like others have mentioned and as you can see in the picture, the fairing is very flimsy and once you tighten down the bolts it really pulls in the plastic making it look cheap. I will get some metal washers to put behind the plastic so this doesn't happen but just be aware. A few suggestions made by others that I found extremely helpful: use a 3/8" neoprene fuel hose cut to shape and then sliced open down the middle to avoid metal on metal and get a very snug fit; using loctite threadlocker on all screws, and getting a 13mm deep socket for getting a strong ratchet (this just makes install a little quicker). Another recommendation is to not lock your crossbars down (or loosen one of your two) until they are directly between two horizontal bars on the rack- getting everything in place before locking things down will save you considerable time. Also, while I installed everything solo (C channels, crossbars and the roof rack) it would have been nice to have a helper. ... show more

  • First Impressions Are Basically Good
Size: 53.5" x 44.6" x 5"
I bought this cargo rack for my wife's Jeep Renegade after doing a ton of research. I actually tried to order a different model from another company, but it was going to take several weeks to receive. After more research on Amazon, I settled for this one. Like other reviewers, the single piece construction sold me. Things I like about it (besides the single construction): -It is sized well, whereas many other cargo cages are smaller. It isn't overbearing on the Renegade (which is fairly small). -The fastening brackets do not protrude up into the cage, but fit flush. Other racks have brackets that aren't flush and make it more difficult to slide things in the cage. The brackets are not thumb tightened like some, but I don't view that as a negative because my preference is to make sure it is cinched down tightly with a wrench. It might take longer to install than others, but again, not a concern for me. -The finish is decent. I put it in the 'like' category, because for this price I worried about a much less refined coating on the rack. -I personally like the sleek angles on front and back; other cages can be a little boxy looking. A couple of things I am not wild about: -The hardware that fastens the wind fairing in the front. I envision problems in the days ahead with the plastic parts. Moreover, all the bolts but two were rattled out in shipping and I had to fish around the box to find the nuts and bolts. I thought I was going to have to run to the hardware store for a bolt, but finally found it when I tore the box apart for recycling (it was wedged under a flap). -The wind fairing itself is a little flimsy. It's plastic, and not particularly rigid plastic. As another reviewer mentioned, the indentations from the bolts when tightened down are very visible. -Mine came with a bad weld on one of the cross pieces. Not just a bad weld, but a open gap into the hollow tubing (Attaching a photo for a visual). I think the integrity is decent in spite of the poor weld, but this is a place that weight in the rack and road vibration could weaken. I used some black caulk to seal the opening. I have had it installed for over a week now. The wind noise at freeway speeds is noticeable, but not overwhelming. I get wind noise with just my cross bars on top and don't think adding the cargo cage increases much. Haven't checked gas mileage, but it is to be expected that it would impact efficiency. To be sure, it comes in a giant box, and the rack is enveloped in a giant plastic 'baggie.' Low budget, but it worked without damage. And the shipping was free - big plus. All in all, I am satisfied. The price was good and I will get some years out of this. When/if I have to replace it, I won't feel too badly because of the budget friendly price. ... show more

  • works great, easy to use, buy again
Size: 53.5" x 44.6" x 5"
I recommend, works great. I've rectangular yakima bars, works easy on my mini cooper. Some wind noise, little, don't notice it. I took a 1 1/4 diameter PVC pipe, cut out a 3/8 opening in it, popped it onto the back bar so that it will spin. Now I can put a canoe or kayak on the basket from behind and just roll the item into/onto the basket. Works fine. Right from the box I sprayed the basket with Automotive black paint everywhere. This was to hopefully stave off rusting from the scratches I will over time put on the basket. I added locking nuts to all bolts to ensure nothing loosens up. All easy done. I can put the rack on/off myself, but it's nice to have my wife assist with the move to ensure I don't scratch the car. nice rack, recommended ... show more

  • Best roof rack you can buy
Size: 53.5" x 44.6" x 5"
This is WAY better than the racks that are multiple pieces that need to be assembled. Those multiple piece racks rust inside the tubing and then drip down the car and you get rust water marks. This is a ONE piece solid rack welded together and is very sturdy.
