This scanner has been one of the best investments we’ve made for our vehicle. It has so many professional-level features, including full system diagnostics, bidirectional (active) tests, wireless Bluetooth connectivity, and a wide range of maintenance functions. It’s easy to use, fast, and gives you access to information that would normally require a trip to the mechanic. My husband drives a 2021 Honda Pilot for Uber, so keeping his vehicle in top condition is essential. We had an annoying issue where the electronics in one of the doors kept acting up, causing it to randomly open and close. Instead of guessing or paying diagnostic fees over and over, we connected this scanner and were able to identify the fault codes ourselves. That gave us a much better understanding of the problem before speaking with a mechanic. Cause yall know how mechanics be sometimes??? $$ 😈 Having this scanner gives you confidence because you can verify what’s actually wrong with your vehicle before agreeing to expensive repairs. It doesn’t replace a good mechanic, but it helps you make informed decisions and makes it much easier to tell whether a repair quote is reasonable. If you own a vehicle—especially if you depend on it for work like rideshare or delivery—this is absolutely worth having. It can save you time, money, and unnecessary stress. I highly recommend it!

First thing is that this device has a bit of a learning curve. I usually try to do my own oil changes and maintenance. This device took me time to learn but I was able to do all the resets so I no longer have to take it into a dealership. It also helps me with diagnosing the issue with my car so I know what to work on. So far this works pretty well. One thing i do suggest is to check for any updates through the decice to be on the safe side. The nice thing is that I can at least change my oil and turn off the oil light myself now. It is a wired connection though so you need to plug it directly into the car. The cable is not that long so you have to be a bit close to the are which is what i hated about this. This diagnostic scan is a good thing to have so now i can know what is working properly without the need to take it to a mechanic. I like that i can avoid some of those "diagnostic fees" to a certain extent. This device does not work on all models so make sure to check if your model is one of them. It is fairly easy to connect my car but still do your research to ensure you know where to plug in. Once i had it plugged in, it connects very easily without issue. I do not have to worry about needing too much troubleshoot. This device actually has a decent screen and applications are already pre-installed so you do not have to worry about needing your own software. For the most part, the applications are fairly straight forward. I would say if is running off of an android system but not 100 percent sure what version. It can take several hours to charge the device. The cable plug fits the most car models that I have seen. The other fits perfectly into the top of the device screen. It is a simple plug and launch application. In terms of usage, it has been pretty accurate with the error codes it receives. The device is pretty heavy but the casing protects it from falls and scratches but it also makes the device is pretty thick and heavy. The grip on the sides are thick to make it eash to hold. There are no real pads on the top and bottom of this device so try not to drop it there. The plugs are all exposed so definitely not water proof. The reset using this device works pretty well. I no longer have to waste time going back and forth with the dealership trying to get small things reset. I can do my own maintenance such as oil changes. For the most part, it was easier to connect the devices to this and get it to work. One thing to note is that the screen is very prone to scratches unfortunately. Regardless, it works in responsiveness. The device does have sound. It takes a few minutes to boot up initially. It does have internal memory for installing updates and such but you can plug in a micro sd card. Overall this diagnostic tool provides a great way to do your own diagnostics and reset. One thing to be aware of though that you should have some knowledge before doing any of this to ensure your car is properly repaired. This has worked well in diagnosing what is wrong with my car and do resets. I can connect to my car without much trouble. The device is heavy though but the two sided grip makes it easy to hold while working on the car in your own hand. The touch screen is responsive. The cable plug being wired does mean you have to be near a car. The carrying case is a hard shell suitcase with pockets to allow you to store the cables and plugs. I can stag organized from now on. It makes it easy to is secure my scanner do it does not bump around. It is compatible with my car. I think if you know what you are doing or want to learn, this is a great device to have for diagnosing and resetting things on your car although the price tag is high.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Professional-Level Scanner Without the Shop Price I’ve been working on cars for years (DIY + helping friends and family), and this Autel MaxiCOM MK808Z has honestly been one of the best tool upgrades I’ve made. Right out of the box, setup was quick and the interface is super intuitive. It runs fast with no lag, and the touchscreen feels more like a tablet than a typical clunky scan tool. The AutoVIN and full system scan features save a ton of time, especially when you’re jumping between different vehicles. What really impressed me is the bidirectional control and active tests. Being able to command components (like fuel pumps, windows, ABS, etc.) makes diagnosing issues way easier instead of just guessing based on codes. It takes this tool way beyond a basic code reader. The 28+ service functions are also a huge win. I’ve already used it for oil resets, EPB, battery registration, and ABS bleeding. For a tool in this price range, that level of functionality is hard to beat. Coverage has been excellent so far—I’ve used it on multiple makes (domestic and foreign) with no issues. It reads and clears codes across all systems and gives solid live data streams that are actually useful. If I had to nitpick, it’s not meant for heavy-duty programming or super advanced dealership-level tasks—but for DIYers, mobile mechanics, or even small shops, this thing is more than capable. I was able to scan all vehicle systems, clear codes, view live data, and perform active tests with no issues.
