First off, that 10.1-inch screen is a huge win. No more squinting at tiny displays when checking live engine data like RPM or coolant temp, or flipping through menus. Clear, bright, and touch-responsive. Operating it feels so smooth, no more frustrating fumbles. When it comes to features, this device does things my old Snap-One scanner can't even touch. The MS906 MAX supports full-system diagnosis, coding (I reset the oil lights and reconfigured the power windows on a 2020 Camry last week), and over 40 service functions (EPB reset, SAS calibration). Snap-on feels fancier, but for my small shop? Autel gives 90% of the power at half the cost. Oh, the coverage is really incredible! My shop sees all kinds of cars: old Fords and Chevys, newer VWs and Hyundais, and even the latest 2023-2024 models. This scanner connects to every single one without a hitch.

I have recently purchased the MK906BT, so my review is mostly on first thoughts and will update later on. It came nicely packaged and shipping was fast and free. I will go about the bads.The case for the MK906BT is HUGE!!, I own a SnapOn master series 54 inch tool box and it will not fit inside my biggest drawer. AUTEL you guys should look into flattening out the case so it could be stored in its case in a tool box. Having 45 updates when starting the software was kind of a drag, but nothing too serious. Goods, this thing is AMAZING! You get a lot of bang for your buck. Software is simple to use, it feels good in your hands, very similar to a SnapOn versus, looks good too! I have used this on chevys, fords, Lexus and Acura’s so far. I have only came across one problem, of trying to add a key to a mustang, But I think it’s more of the cars fault than the scanner(owner) had a different ecu with tune installed. Overall so far so good.

As a small - time mechanic running my own shop. I need tools that are reliable and cost effective. The Autel MS906 MAX fits the bill perfectly. I had a customer come in with a Chrysler that had some reallly strange electrical issues. The MS906 MAX’s ability to unlock the Chrysler FCA safety gateway was a life saver. It allowed me to dig deep into the vehicle’s electrical system and find the root cause of the problem. Which turned out to be a faulty relay that was hidden in a complex network. I was able to fix it in no time, and the customer was impressed. The bidirectional control feature is also incredibly useful. I can now test components like actuators and solenoids directly from the scanner, which helps me diagnose problems much faster. And the fact that it covers so many vehicle brands means I can take on more diverse jobs without having to invest in multiple expensive scanners. This is the one purchase that’s already paying for itself.

I used to work with the old MK908, and honestly, that tiny 8-inch screen was rough. The 10.1-inch display on this one makes a huge difference—super sharp and easy to read, even under those harsh garage lights that usually make everything look washed out. No more squinting or second-guessing data. Feature-wise, it covers everything—ECU coding, bidirectional control, oil reset, ABS bleeding, auto VIN scans for every ECU—you name it. Just last week, I had a BMW X5 G05 in the shop. The owner wanted the auto start-stop disabled, and I handled that with no problem. I also activated the “fold mirrors on lock” feature—stuff that a dealership would easily overcharge for. Did it all through the hidden “Expert Mode,” smooth and easy. Compared to cheap clones out there, the MS906 MAX feels like a legit, pro-grade tool. It's not just a scanner—it's like having a solid shop assistant.

If you're a experienced technician, this is a perfect tool. I've made my money back on it just in diag time. It's super easy to use, I also use it at my dealership and out side work. The rage of the dongle is super useful while a vehicle is on a lift. A must have for diag techs.
