With the price of automotive scanners costing as much as a car, I did a lot of searching for an affordable scanner that still had multiple functions. I called autel to verify the scanner covered some of the things I was looking for, they verified it did, so I bought it. Came with about every dongle you could need. Autel soon followed up with multiple emails to make sure it was to my liking and if I had any other questions. Disclaimer… I have not had the chance to do as much as I wanted yet but it has performed great for a few uses on different vehicles. I keep it updated on a weekly basis which is very simple to do. The Bluetooth is great, you can plug it in and walk/move around the vehicle if need with no cable (one of the reasons for purchasing). This Tablet / Scanner is very easy to use and feels comparable to the ones twice the price. Not all roses. Couple notes would be, it should come with a screen protector (bought one right away from autel and it went on perfect) secondly it doesn’t do TPMS (I knew this and still bought it).     • Great tool for Intermediate to Advanced Level Techs.
We run an auto repair business with many field service techs. We have a suite of Autel scan tools, and if you are not looking for the biggest screen, all the fancy ADAS functionality and J2534 pass thru programming (which most don't need), this scan tool is probably the best bang for your buck. There are some other up and coming brands out there that will do advanced bi-directional functions but I found the interfaces to be much less intuitive, and the functionality is sometimes limited to a fault and you find yourself needing a better tool. We have an MS909, MS908CV, a couple of MP808's, a DS808, as well as this one, the MP808BT (which is just the wireless bluetooth version of the other 808's). All work great, we seamlessly upload PDF documents of our scan reports to repair orders, and overall very happy with Autel and the great work they do. There are ones with bigger screens and a slightly more robust GUI, but overall they all have the same vehicle coverage and functionality, again, unless you need ADAS functionality or J2534 pass-thru (for seriously advanced users only). ... show more

This scanner is way better than My snap on scanner that i paid over $1600. This one was half the price and has more capabilities. And a big bonus is that you get 2 years of free software updates.

i have a basic code reader which I have been trying to use to troubleshoot but this tool provided so much more information, pointing me in a specific direction

    • Best Bang For Buck!
This is truly a good scanner for the money! After trying many other scanners from snap on (solus, zeus, and apollo) and a couple from Launch, I can confidently say that this is the one i would buy overall. I can’t recommend this scanner enough! Its price is perfect and the subscription cost is low compared to the other brands (you get one year free subscription by the way and you dont need to renew unless you want special programming or coding functions). It’s also bi-directional which is great for testing certain modules (if applicable) and is a very powerful tool when you learn how to use it. This is a big step up from the $100-$200 scanners. If you are in the trade, i would recommend this over a snap on that is double the cost along with double the cost for subscription/update fee. Snap on scanners are waaaay to expensive for what they can accomplish compared to this new MP808. If you just want the best “bang for buck” scanner that will last and is cheap to keep up to date, THIS IS THE ONE!!! ... show more

    • No good once subscription expires you only can use it limited no good, rip off, be careful
Once the subscription is over it is useless they don’t tell you upfront done with Autel
