I bought this scan tool to upgrade from my old code reader. Wanted a bidirectional tool to diagnose more complex issues. After much research this was the tool. I immediately used it to find repair a wiring issue with a evap canister vent solenoid. Was able to manually command it and verify that power and ground was present and then identify where the break was. I also used it to recalibrate hvac system in my other car after replacing an actuator. Pretty easy to use, register, and update. It even has a countdown from the time you registered for the free updates and let’s you know when it’s time to purchase more updates after the year. Tool will still work if you don’t update it after a year. Bluetooth works flawlessly, very happy I bought this and look forward to using it more. Buy it, you won’t regret it.

Was able to find many issues with my car, even leading me to find out that I have blow-by, compression loss and misfires on all cylinders. Easy to use, first time buying scanner like this so I can only compare it to a OBD Bluetooth Dongle but this is waaaaaay more detailed on what all components are doing. This unit, with a MK nomenclature is a “global” unit, not a US inventoried and distributed model. Why is that important? Because when I went to register my unit with Autel, they informed me that most of the corporate warranty and free software updates and support will not apply. This is why it was such a low price. In the old days before online sales, we called that a “grey market” unit/sale. So buyer beware. I sent mine back for a refund and purchased one from an authorized US Autel distributor. Cost a few more $ but the peace of mind and confirmed support was worth it. You can call Autel directly to discuss this if in doubt.

So this listing states that it is an upgrade of MK808BT and newest on the market. It is the same as the MK808BT PRO. Just go find a PRO version and pay $450 for it. This is not an upgraded unit and I suspect that I will have trouble returning this unit to purchase the PRO version found with identical specifications but for $100 less.
