Works great if you need a cheap tool that has access to a lot of OBD II functions. The only catch is that you get one brand of software included, you have to buy other brand databases. This would be fine except they are only year long "subscriptions". Just be aware that you will need to figure out what brand you want to marry this thing to or else pay $20 a year for each additional brand you want.

Being a shade tree mechanic, this scanner is the best option for a large range of scanning capabilities if you are tech savvy. Bought to troubleshoot ABS sensor on my 2016 Silverado and not many scanners handle ABS. I was able to resolve my problem. Keep in mind, you may need to download more apps,etc.. to use for your vehicle. This fact threw me off for a bit. The fact this license validates to 1 vehicle (more will cost you extra) is an annoyance but let's be real, this is cheap enough that it isn't a negative. I'd gladly buy a new one for each of my cars just to avoid the dealership and their $100+ diagnostic fee just to identify the problem before repairing it. I keep my cars so this scan tool will get a lot of mileage.

This is a horrible product Im really questioning the reveiw count. I bought this product 6 months before I opened it and regret now. Cant get it to register properly and it not my phone thats the issue I already confirmed that with so called customer service. I have an android and urge people who consider buying this item to PLEASE look at the Play store reveiws before your purchase .The app stands at 2.2 stars by 96 people. The app is crap. Cant speak for Apple users but GOOD LUCK regardless. I cant register this product although I went thru a complete registration process with Autel Customer Service to no prevail not once but twice And left off with them the second time with them promising me they would send me an email with instructions to fix this a week ago! I cant update firmware on this device either and that may be just part of the problem. I spent $70 on this product just to use it as basic OBD2 scanner which I could have got a $20 one from amazon that does the same thing without all the glitches! I have no access to ANY advanced features that this device offers because of the registration process, I also tried reaching out to customer service via the link provided in the items details WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THE COMPANY!! I really feel as tho I was HOOD WINKED with this one ..NOT A GOOD FEELING. This is my second posted reveiw because my first HONEST posted reveiw was flagged by YOU KNOW WHO and rejected Hope this one doesnt end up rejected too because if so I will contact BBB to open an investigation . Its really not fair to rip off the poor and disregard them as they try to reach out for help with the your product that they spent all there money they had on it! OK I've had thing for a little now and can finally write a review. This little beauty is a gem and I'd highly recommend it. My only caviate is that you have to be patient, everything takes a while to run when compared to my normal plug in code reader. But... And I say but, it is worth it. For $55 I was able to program new keys to a replacement ECU and reset and relearn the throttle body to the new Ecu. Easily has the functions of a much higher dollar code reader albeit a little slower. I easily saved $200 plus on having my car towed to the dealer to have them reprogram the new ECU and relearn the throttle body, glad I found it.

Purchased this product to initiate a full brake bleed (ABS brakes) on my 2017 Jeep Wrangler and 2021 BMW 530e. Software (available from Google Play & Apple store) was easy to install, per the instructions. Pairing the unit was easy as well. Was able to connect to both vehicles no problem. Features/functions were basic. I had to install an additional software app (one for each vehicle make), which was available via the stores for free, to get full functionality. I did have to start/stop the app a few times to get them to see the "main" app and get full functionality. I was able to to perform the full full brake bleed (typically you have to go to a shop for this) on the Jeep - I was not on the BMW as it is too new and not in the product database, which is understandable; I will have to wait for that, but I am very happy with the product. This is a honest review from a Diesel technician that also works on light duty and compact gasoline vehicles. I bought this to replace my handheld Innova scanner. I do not work on gasoline vehicles often to justify spending thousands on a top of the line scanner. I registered the scanner and downloaded the apps MaxiAP200 and Diag-USA that it requires to run. Used the one free series for particular vehicle I was working to get the full features to try out. I started having Bluetooth disconnect issues and connection errors. It would finally connect after several attempts. I own a iPhone 12 Pro Max so it not the phone I assure you. For professionals this would cost you a lot of shop time. This personally is more tailored towards DIYers. That’s why I give it 3 stars.
