  • Really do it.
style: Gramma
I am an avid user of Auralex products. These work for me quite well & really do maximize amplifiers potential. The materials used are high quality & built to last. A simple science that a lot of other brands don't take seriously, apparently. Auralex always does the job. I have 2 of these v2 versions & 1 original. The original is still working well after many years. I use it primarily with guitar amps, the design on the bottom is different. It has 2 pieces of the platform foam split with a wedge style piece in the middle. The v2 has one solid piece of platform style foam & sounds a bit tighter with bass amps, at least to me. This is a great studio tool to have & I don't give many 5 star reviews. ... show more

  • Keep the lows, loose the rumble!
style: Gramma
It does what the tagline says. My band-mates sure seem to think there's a big difference in stage "boom" and have all given my the thumbs up. I actually am able to play with a bit more onstage volume and the whole band is happy, they can all hear me clearly without that nasty rumble you get on poorly constructed stages. Also keeps that rig in place. Watch your drummer though, mine spilled a drink on the carpet and foam 1st minute in LOL. The foam was dense enough that the liquid beaded up and let me remove most of it. As an observation, I believe the band got a better performance from the guitarists. They actually could relax more and groove along with the rhythm section since there wasn't as much audio mud cluttering up things or the bass disappearing. Just my observation, but we have had great results lately and I believe this has been a part of it. ... show more

  • This will drain the mud!
style: Great Gramma
Holy SUB, Batman!! This isolation platform really did the trick in opening up the sound of my Yamaha DSX15. The Yamaha was on a thinly carpeted wood floor in a band practice room, which made it sound muddy and unclear. Take that in the opposite direction with the Auralex under the sub. Now, everything is clear, tight and punchy and the notes blend better with the mains (Yamaha MSR400's). My band uses our sub for playback of recordings and rehearsal in our practice room, in addition to drum machine, live bass drum and tom mics, and bass guitar duties (usually not all at the same time, ha). Playback of well-mixed and mastered music is a lot more enjoyable since isolating the sub from the floor. Makes a big, obvious difference. ... show more

  • Great Assistance in reducing the Boom
style: Great Gramma
It's funny that within days of getting this, I had occasion to use it. I showed up for a gig where we were performing on a raised wooden stage that must have been at least 50 years old. When I first played my bass during sound check, the tone was boomy as all get out throughout the theater. I put down the GreatGRAMMA pad, adjusted the EQ a bit, and voila, the boom was gone. This is a super help in those kind of circumstances, and while I had a regular GRAMMA pad previously, this one is actually large enough to hold my cabinet with nothing leaking over the sides, so it seems a bit sturdier. I like this product a bunch and take it to every gig. ... show more

  • You want the bass back in your life?
style: Gramma
This platform allowed bass back into my life. I moved into a town home next to someone who was extremely intolerant of any amount of base vibrations and this pad has allowed me to bring some of the base back into the room without bugging the snowflake next door.

  • I'm really isolated now.
style: Gramma
Although the results may vary for everyone else. I placed my subwoofer for a Q80r Soundbar on top of this on a concrete floor ; its weird that the bass sounds louder for me but pretty much nonexistent for everyone outside my space. Although the price went up I highly recommend this product. The money is worth it if your looking to turn the volume up and not annoy anyone. ... show more

  • Cleans up bass amp sound
style: Baby Gramma
Using this with my GK MB112 v2 combo amp. It definitely cleans up resonances from the room sound in the low mids which make it hard to hear your "real" sound. Very worth the money for home practice and gigging. Easy to transport.
