I have had 3 of These radios and they all are laden with problems, unless all you do is Google Maps, and the stereo. One good thing I will say is that the screen is about the best I have found in the China radios. But that is where it ends. You can read other reviews (Try a Google search) about the entire line of Atoto Radios, and all of them are plagued with deficient, low quality hands free audio for making calls - one of my main reasons for getting Atoto. After trying just about everything, including firmware updates, I finally got ATOTO support to admit that yes, poor mic audio was indeed, a problem in the A6 PF. To their credit they did offer to give me a credit toward another accessory of my choice. Because of the screen quality, I really wanted to stick with ATOTO, but, after doing searches on Google, I found that even the WE7 and the S8 were hindered with BT mic audio problems. Some people even tried to disconnect the front facing mic and connected direct with a 3rd party mic to try to get some love, but no luck. I even tried this myself after seeing the suggestion, but no improvement. This pretty much cemented the fact that it is the core circuitry of the radio that is the issue. The automation is very poor - a firmware issue. Unless again, you are using, stereo or Google maps. The online GPS, which is supposed to work independently of Google Maps, is mind numbingly slow. Basically, just worthless. One way you can tell of the real popularity (lack thereof) of this radio is that identical radios show up on a famous awkshun site for about 40 percent less, and said to be "re-furb-ished" I mean there are LOTS of them. Go type in ATOTO and see for yourself. That should tell you the real value of these radios and that probably 50 percent of them get returned. I suspect the reason why most people keep the radio is because they do not use hands free while driving, or just use a headset direct from their phones. I could go on and on with the problems ALL models have. You want a pretty screen, then this is it. But there are other china radios that do just as well for far less money than this. Some things do work well. Like, the screen - you can see well in the daytime and at night, there is a convenient button that allows you to dim it with 3 settings to keep it from blinding you at night. I am mostly disappointed because this radio has so much potential. That is why I tried to jump through so many hoops to try to get it to work. ... show more

I bought a car that already had this radio installed. It was the first time I heard of the brand. I typically stick to higher-end Kenwood Excellon reference systems. After researching the radio, tuning it, and finding its weaknesses, I'm satisfied with what it can do. First, I have to say support is spot on. The warranty is now void (I did not buy it), but support sent me links to update the radio MCU and firmware. I am familiar with the Android ecosystem so I know I can load and even sideload all manner of apps to get the OS to behave the way I want. Support took only hours (if that) to provide detailed responses. Note** I received support by emailing them, the Atoto support website is a bit unintuitive and filled with people requesting firmware updates. However, the post contents are typically deleted. The website was not much help. I ended up buying a USB Carplay module. Blasphemy, but as a recent IOS user, the radio works much better using my phone's hardware to process. The firmware of the radio is based on Android 6 and as such has some minimal issue. The hardware seems to bog down with this firmware at times. In my experience, boot up times are very fast, but navigation through standard things like Google Maps or even settings have a delay. I find it slightly annoying to have to enable my hotspot to get the most out of the lacking data services on the radio. For this reason, I opted to just go with Carplay. It's easier on the phone battery and does not have any delay. Out of the box, the radio firmware has all that you need even when not using Carplay. Every app you would want or need on the radio is present. If you want more, it's as simple as downloading an app from the Google Play Store. My only major gripe with this radio is the equalizer, the firmware has an EQ app baked in, but it is ad supported and frankly, does not work well. Going to the Android sound settings, you can choose an audio profile. However, you cannot save a custom profile. The radio will retain the custom adjustment, but if you want to tweak the sound and open the setting in the future, you will see a default profile. For this reason, dialing in the EQ settings to provide good quality audio took way longer than it should have. I had to continually remember the last settings I used and go from there. I'm curious what more modern offerings for the Atoto lineup use and how responsive the audio is? If you are on a budget and like to tinker with settings, I think this radio is perfect. If you want a simple experience, you will have to spend quite a bit more to get similar features. ... show more
