  • A great mouse with some minor flaws.
Overall I am quite happy with this mouse, though there are some things to be aware of prior to purchasing. The positioning of the side buttons may or may not work for your hand size/grip style. If at all possible, try to test one out in person before ordering. This is not a small mouse by any stretch of the imagination. For me personally, this is excellent, since I prefer a larger/heavier mouse, but if you prefer a more standard sized, or smaller mouse, this may not be the best option for you. The software is easy to use, and seems to be fairly powerful for configuring your mouse. I did have a problem with it not loading, and popping up an error message in Chinese that I was unable to read. I had to resort to google image translation in order to decipher it. This is a shortcoming to be certain. Error dialogs definitely should respect the language of the machine it is installed on. The color configuration is pretty unimpressive, particularly after being exposed to Razer's Chroma system. Using the same RGB values, my three light areas do not truly match in color, and I have been unable to get a truly good match for my Orbweaver that has the perfect color I wanted. The side and logo is pretty close, but the mouse wheel is significantly lighter in color (you can see this a little in the attached photo, how the mouse wheel is much brighter than the logo or side buttons, and results in a more washed out color). It is also not exactly accurate to say this has a huge color range. While you can program in 16.5 million different colors, you will not get that many. I don't know if it's a result of the LEDs being used, or the controller for the LEDs, but I would say it's much closer to a few thousand colors if I had to toss out a completely arbitrary number based on anecdotal experience. All in all, however, it is nice being able to find a color to match my computer's theme. Finally, I have noticed that the right mouse button squeaks fairly regularly with the pre-installed switch. I have not tried changing them out to see if this is the switch itself, or the button mechanism. I have seen other reports of this as well, so it seems to be a manufacturing or design issue with the mouse. Personally I find it fairly annoying when I am playing with the volume down, but mainly because my computer is VERY quiet. I suspect if you have a machine that makes a more "normal" amount of noise, you may not even notice it. (The other mice in the image are the Mad Catz M.M.O.7, which is no longer being made, an excellent mouse despite the mouse wheel being garbage, and the Tt e-Sports Ventus Z, an excellent mouse for the money.) ... show more

  • Cursor Constantly Shifts Resisting Movement and Jumps Around the Screen
Whenever I wake up my computer the cursor constantly resists my movements trying to push up and to the left specifically only when I move the mouse. When I leave the mouse still the cursor stays still. But when I start moving the mouse the cursor does this thing and it's really annoying. This also happens whenever I open a program and the mouse will also constantly jump around the screen making specifically to the corners making it really hard to find. Once I do find it, it just bounces around again and resists movements. When I first got this mouse it didn't happen but it started ever since I got the armory application that is used for this mouse and other Asus products. When the mouse is working it works amazingly and it's really easy to find the right buttons on the side and the buttons aren't too easy to press. The mouse is really comfortable and really easy to use in game. People said it was too heavy to use in first person shooters but I found it really easy and not too heavy at all. The wireless charger is really nice and it has a long charge. When the mouse is turned on it feels it connects instantly. I really love this mouse and I'm writing this review to hopefully let people know about this current software issue but also how great this mouse is. ... show more

  • It's the best multi button mouse out there but...
This mouse is incredibly hard to find. Often times out of stock and going for ridiculous prices on the internet. I am currently searching for my 3rd purchase as these mice break easily. For gaming, it can't be beat. It's great for MMOs and other games that are played easier with a bunch of buttons at your thumbs disposal. The biggest gripe I have with this mouse is that the micro USB female end on the mouse wears down and ends up losing contact often. Sure, you can use it wireless. However, If you are an MMO player, chances are you play for more than an hour at a time. The battery life on this mouse leaves a lot to be desired. Sure, You can keep recharging it. I have a knack for just walking away from my desk when I am done and not placing the mouse on the recharging doc. That causes me to have a dead mouse the next day. So I resorted to playing wired. This is personal preference. If you feel that wireless is your only way to use a mouse, and need lots of buttons - this is the mouse for you. ... show more

  • Not for everyone, and that is okay
The idea of this mouse is great. It looks amazing too. However, it is on the big side and is a specialized mouse. It is great for RPG games and programs that use keyboard shortcuts. It is NOT an fps mouse or a general computer mouse. It is not for the average person. Let's get that clear. If you are a person who does not use content creating programs like Adobe programs or who does not play RPG games, do not get this mouse. If you want an ASUS mouse to complete your ASUS ROG setup, get a Gladius II mouse. Armoury software WAS glitch-y at one point, but Asus has cleaned up their mess and optimized their program to run smoother. There are many profiles for this mouse, so you can link programs to each profile. This is what makes this mouse different from other mice with multiple buttons on the side. I gave each profile a different color so that I can quickly make sure that I am on the correct profile with my intended button layouts. This mouse does have firmware updates, and you can update the mouse and dock through the Armoury software. I am not a content creator myself and I don't play triple A titles, so the mouse would not be used to its full potential. When charging the mouse, my computer is usually off and the dock has no power. So, I have to plug the USB to a wall adapter to charge the mouse. First, you have to turn the mouse off, then dock the mouse on the charger. You can use the mouse with the cable connected, but that would deem the wireless function pointless. Overall, I love this mouse because the looks are so aggressive and I'm sure I would use it to its full potential one day. ... show more
