  • Quick, communicative, no hassle!
Bought a renewed 65" LG oled C8 TV in 2019 for $1750, figured "well I never buy renewed I may as well spring for the warranty on it too." After 3 years and 10 months my TV developed a small cluster of dead pixels (a small group of 20 out of the 8,000,000+). I dug back through my amazon orders and found my warranty info, signed on to the Asurion website, filled in my claim info with pictures, and waited. It took them a few business days to get back to me but they found a local repair company to come and assess my TV to see if it could be repaired or if they needed to replace it. The repair company contacted me within 48 hours and set up a date/time that worked for a tech to come to my home. The tech was super friendly and knowledgeable. He informed me that repairs were not possible on these oled panels and that Asurion would either pay for the panel replacement, find a new version of my 5 year old TV and send it to me and ask for my bad one in return, send a matching replacement out and let me keep my faulty TV, or they'd send me a check. Well, after another 72 business hours (and an email from Asurion letting me know they were reviewing solutions) I received multiple notifications that Asurion determined the tv was beyond repair and they were sending me a check. They came through on their guarantee 100% and sent me a check for my original purchase price and let me keep my faulty TV. Zero hassles. Zero arguments. Zero confusion. And they acted exactly as you would hope a warranty company would. Will definitely be using them again if I need another aftermarket warranty in the future! ... show more

Very worth getting the Coverage, because you just never know how your product will last. Asurion always takes good care of me.

  • Excruciatingly long process to get any type of help.
Asurion does not make getting help quick or easy. The cost of the protection compared to the assistance I’ve received is discouraging. TV in pristine condition physically, suddenly experienced a glitchy screen black out. Leaving a black area on my screen. 24/7 support was not helpful on the evening it happened. Luckily I made my claim myself. Next day I called during business hours. I was told Asurion would be finding someone close to my area to send out to diagnose and fix this issue, if fixable. Asurion support mentioned this issue sounds “totally fixable.” Asurion said they will call me back with the information of who they are sending to diagnose the issue. Waited past the 2-3 day time frame for their call back. I called and was only then informed they will in fact not be sending anyone out at all?! They do not have a service team within 100 miles of Portland Oregon where I am located.. they can not send anyone out to diagnose the issue at all. I was told to wait another 2-5 business days to expect a call for physical pictures of my tv. I have finally got the call requesting pictures be sent to a specific email. Took many extra days to be able to even get the opportunity to send them my pictures for my claim. Now I must wait 2 more days for them to review my pictures. Then I have been told to expect another 3-5 days wait after that for my claim to then be processed. My TV cost me $1,600 and because of this they will only reimburse me via check in the mail, and I was told to expect another 7-10 business days for that. This reimbursement will not include any shipping/ handling costs of the 85’ TV. Ultimately Asurion has negatively surprised me with the lack of ability to send anyone out to diagnose or repair, as well as their poor communication and slow claims process. I’ve been very patient and understanding as I know this is just how it works for Asurion. Just remember, if your tv has any issue it may truly take 3 + weeks for it to be handled by Asurion! ... show more

  • Got the job done, would use again
The people on the phone said there were delays "to order parts" but in reality that was a lie and no parts were ever ordered as the TV was scrapped. All told it took 2 weeks for someone to show up at my house, which isn't terrible but could have been better, and communication and interactions were generally poor (not the technician who came out) just all the email and phone interactions. They never seemed knowledgeable and had no information for me without me having to prompt for it. All that being said, they did send a check for the original purchase price of the item (this does not cover the TAX or the cost of the insurance policy). So was it worth it? YES The total elapsed time from time of claim to receiving a check was 3 weeks and while we all want instant gratification that is not too bad. ... show more

  • Definitely took care of me!
I normally don't buy warranties on things but I did in a new 75in TV. After 2yrs it went out. I placed a warranty call and they sent out a repairman to pick up the TV. 2 days later they said it wasn't repairable and cut me a check for the $1600 I paid for the TV.
