Bought a $199 dehumidifier that was kind of an unknown brand manufactured in parts unknown. Normally I pass on extended warranties and take my chances, but it seems like over the past decade, every appliance I buy only lasts like 5 years max. Used to be 10-12... sign of the times, I guess. I think the warranty was $25 or $30, so consider all of that, I thought it would be a worthwhile insurance policy. Sure enough, the compressor stopped working on the dehumidifier, and I filed a claim. The process came with a few headaches. Even though I linked my Amazon account to Asurion when I initiated the claim, which gave them full access to my purchase history, and could verify that I bought the unit on Amazon, and the warranty policy, they still required me to send scanned copies of my Amazon receipt, AND the original warranty printout. Keep in mind they already had all this info in their own files and I granted them access to my entire Amazon account through their own API. They also required photos of the unit, which was reasonable. It felt like they were adding extra hoops to jump through so that I would get frustrated and just not go through with the claim, which I imagine some people would do. Kind of underhanded but they did ultimately honor the claim, and so I will give 5-stars for that, which is what matters. I believe they offered me a check or an Amazon gift card. I took the card. They also did not require that I mail the defective unit back, which I was thankful for, since it would have been a heavy hassle. Words of advice -- print out your product receipt, print out the warranty documentation, put it in a sandwich bag, and then tape it to whatever appliance you buy. That's what I did with my dehumidifier and I'm glad I did.

My dehumidifier started malfunctioning a year after purchase. I filed a claim with assuring. Within minutes, I had an Amazon credit for the full purchase price of the unit. Simple, fast, and they saved my investment. I would definitely recommend Asurion coverage for a higher cost item that is prone to fail.

Great response to status of repair. My sewing machine had a timing issue where the needle could not catch the bobbin thread. All I was told was it could not be repaired and I was refunded my purchase price. I would like to know what broke so I could make an informed decision on buying a new one. I bought a different sewing machine.

The compressor failed in a dehumidifier that I bought about three years ago. I purchased the 4-year Asurion extended warranty insurance policy when I bought the dehumidifier. I fully expected that submitting the claim would be unnecessarily difficult and that the chances of getting a full refund were about as good as finding a four leaf clover on an iceberg! It's possible, but not very likely! To my surprise the whole process was very easy, the people at Asurion were very helpful, and the full original price of the dehumidifier was refunded. I used the gift certificate to buy a new dehumidifier from Amazon and -- you guessed it -- I bought another four year plan.

I had a claim on this policy. I have bought Assurion policies before but have never had a claim. I always wondered how hard it would be to make a claim. I now know that their claim service is very efficient and fair. I will continue to buy the policies when I want protection for a device.

I purchased a dehumidifier for my basement in 2019 and a Asurion Protection Plan. At the time I was hesitant on purchasing a protection plan as I only use the dehumidifier 2-3 months of the year. Fast forward 4 years later, and the dehumidifier was continuing to run collecting very little moisture, no indication of a problem via the panel, and then the unit stopped functioning. I contacted Asurion (gave customer service a 10+). As instructed via an e-mail from Asurion, I forwarded a picture of the original order # for the dehumidifier and service plan, the front, side and back of the dehumidifier, completed the required paper work and the next day received an e-mail indicating I am being reimbursed for the cost of the dehumidifier. I will say the process was simply and easy. A few minutes ago ordered another dehumidifier and did not hesitate to purchase a Asurion Protection Plan.
