1 Time Max Claim: Depending on what you buy, Asurion may allow for 2-3 times claim over the course of the coverage plan. BUT in this case, this $7.99 coverage plan only allows for a 1-time claim for my $79.99 air fryer. REPEAT, it's a 1 time max claim total. Which isn't bad. My air fryer had it's run for a good 2 years of frequent use (which was 1 year past the manufacturer's warranty), so now I get the money to buy another air fryer whether the same one or a different (but I'd need to buy a new protection plan for it). Filing Claim Process: It was pretty basic and simple. You need to go onto Asurion.com/Amazon, then follow the steps. At the very last step, it actually took me to an error page and asked me to chat with someone. So I did, and was told the error happens when some information needs to be updated. Which was fine, because the chat was painless and didn't take long. I'm just glad they didn't make me call in, because that would be so inconvenient while I'm filing this claim while I'm working. Coverage runs concurrently with manufacturer's warranty: Coverage from Asurion starts the day you purchase it. So you bought the 3-year Asurion coverage. If your manufacturer's warranty is for 1 year, then it means Asurion will cover only 2 years after that. What it covers: I think what a lot of people don't know about insurances and warranties is that there are a lot of specific things they DON'T cover. Think: if it still functions, then it's not covered. So for example, if it's a broken button you can't press to BAKE something even though you can still AIRFRY with it (bake and airfry are 2 different functions on the same machine), it has a big chance it won't be covered because the machine itself still functions. You can call, scream, and yell at someone, and you'd probably get your claim approved this way, but that's too much work for me. It's dumb, but I learned this the hard way a long time ago when one of my microwave's button broke and couldn't use half the functions on it and the other half still works. I mean, you'd have to look at the fine print, but if you have to justify what's "technically" a covered item, then you're already screwed. Just sayin'. Was it worth it?: I guess so. I mean, I usually buy coverage on anything that's expensive, has a short manufacturer's warranty, and has finicky parts that can't be diy-fixed. I didn't expect my item to go out so soon, and now that it did, it was worth it. When I don't have to claim anything, then I tell myself it's for peace of mind. It helps that the process itself was painless. So in the end, yeah, I would say it was worth it. It's sort of like I leased my $79.99 air fryer. Cuz 2 years later, I get to trade in for a new one. But hey, if I hadn't needed to trade it in/make a claim, I'm fine with that too.

I generally make it A point to purchase this coverage. I have for so many years. Never had to file claim until now. And this company is wonderful no hassle. Quickly paid me for the covered item. It's worth the extra especially because products these years aren't really dependable. Highly recommend

Bought a 3 year protection plan on my air fryer back in 2020. Started to make weird noises after 2-1/2 years of usage. Filed a claim with Asurion and they emailed me a UPS return label. Once they received it, they sent me a Amazon credit for what I paid for the air fryer via email. Applied it to my Amazon account and bought a new air fryer. Most difficult part was finding a box to ship the defective product back.

No one expects a kitchen appliance to break when it's only a couple of years old. Thank goodness I always get extended warranties! Asurion was easy to work with when my Instapot decided to start burning foods halfway through the cook. It only took a few minutes, and my return label was in my email, and ready to print. And they must have sent the refund email the same day they received the pot. Overall I'm very pleased with the transaction. And yes, I'm getting another instapot (same model)! thx, jelybu
