Don't do a lot of reviews, but I'm going to share everything that I wanted to know about this pad before ordering. Looked at many different liners on Amazon, ebay, Lowes, harbor freight, etc. Decided to take a chance on this one because of the price for the roll length. Did not notice any odor for those of you who care about that. Grids make it easy to cut if you have good lighting. Cuts easy, clean, and quick with a razor blade, but kitchen scissors work just as good. 11 drawers and 2 compartments in the top in less than 30 minutes. Take your time on the first and use it as a template for the rest. Pad is 1\8" thick which is plenty. Don't be skeptical and look for something thicker. You're not sleeping on it. There may be thicker pads out there but this pad is dense and rugged. Pad appears to be impermeable. Ran hot water on it for 30 seconds and nothing came through. Wipes dry so it should be easy to clean. This is an upgrade on my old liner which lets dirt and grease pass through to the drawer bottoms. Compared to the old liner, it doesn't provide quite as much friction but the trade off for being solid, firmer, and better looking is worth it. Video shows that tools stay in place well so it's not a big deal to me. I cut out squares the same size for the new and old and put a roll of electrical tape on each for weight and put on a baking sheet. New didn't slide until about about 50 degree angle and the old made it to around 70 degrees. Both more than enough for a level drawer. Scraped fairly hard with a screw driver several times and it held up well. Would protect the drawers if something were to fall or scrape. Both sides look the same so they could be flipped over years later and look new again. Still have several feet left over which I will probably be using for shelves around the house and dashboard compartments in vehicles. Worth buying a large roll. Be creative and think of other uses. Tried to give an honest and unbiased review and really could not think of anything negative. It's clear that they put a lot of thought into making the perfect balance of foam/rubberiness(?) to provide the highest level of practicality. Hope this helps.

I have both a wired and old steel rack, both 18” deep. The covering of the old steel/flat one was cosmetic (it’s rough and a tad rusty) and for slide control. The wired is for fall through prevention. The 18” measurement was perfect for me - less cutting - the roll was great for the amount of shelves to cover. I find these (essentially toolbox) liners are a minimalist approach that works well for me for this application (shelving), versus self described shelving liners which we more expensive. My shopping experience - online and local - found the pricing was very good, and the longer/larger roll allowed me room for error. It cut easily with sharp scissors - box cutter did not work well for me - and for the flat steel rack I applied a few spots oh krazy glue to hold down the edges. About to order additional roll after this proof of concept success. No genius involved in selection as it was a SWAG (so many choices), but for me it’s all I need on shelving, and I had not seen that use case reviewed, only toolbox/drawer lining. I found it easy (though not necessarily quick - to insure proper fit and alignment) to handle and deal with. Results; No sliding - of the piece itself or items stored - as yet for either rack.

The liners in a couple drawers in one of my toolboxes were really getting on my nerves. Apparently the good liners in my other box are produced exclusively for SnapOn and you'll pay for it too. This isn't as nice a liner (the SO liner is just perfection) but it's not bad at all. The old liner was bunching up and letting tools slide around or it was that grid type stuff I could never stand. I swapped it into and reorganized a pair of drawers that needed it badly and so far I'm happy, it's not AS grippy as the SO liner but the little bit of give to it really does help hold tools in place and keep them from sliding around. I'm sure eventually I will work my way through the box and replace them all. This is a good drawer liner, I would and may have to purchase it again. It's similar to the HF solid liner but a good bit cheaper and it may even be nicer, they're pretty close so far. We'll have to see about durability. Bottom line, I like it. A few months in and I've replaced the liner in another drawer (box has been filled for years but I had to reorganize a drawer) and the other 2 drawers are still holding up great. This stuff is way WAY better than that grid type liner that the box had in it when I bought it. After a few months of opening & closing some of the pliers have shifted a touch but nothing requiring me to really move anything around. I'm also using scraps in a small hand tool box I'm cleaning up, this stuff is great!

***Not a professional heavy-use mechanic, I'm a home toolbox user*** ...the last 8-12 inches of the roll are almost unusable. These last inches are badly kinked/deformed from the rolling process, so plan on that when doing your measuring for how many feet you will need to complete your project. Order extra length, You'll probably use the excess in other ways. I did :) With a sharp knife, this liner cuts very smoothly with zero tearing. After a short time the tools I set on these mats lightly "melt" in and are nicely held in place.

We originally ordered it for lining a work bench. It provides good protection and really good grip. We had some acrylic drawers that are very hard to pull with heavy stuff inside on a slippery surface, but putting the drawers on the liner made it so easy to use (I don't have to hold one hand on the drawer frame to pull out the drawer anymore!) We also started using it for additional friction in the car trunk. We keep a very heavy tool box in our trunk. It slides around with hard stops and big turns. A pre-cut trunk liner cost a fortune. These works just fine! Plus it's waterproof. I had a pool of water sitting in a tray made from this and it kept the water for a couple of weeks until the folding point eventually leaked. If you just have some water spilled on this, it will protect your surface.

This liner is just what I hoped it would be. It’s thick, stays in place, easy to cut. I bought it to line drawers of an older Master Mechanic tool chest. This liner is much thicker than the liner that came with my new Craftsman tool chest. I’m glad I took a chance on this rather than purchase an expensive roll of Craftsman liner. I expect this to hold up very well. But I’m not a heavy user of my tools. This is a liner I would buy again.

These liners were exactly what I was looking for. (1) Super thick and lie flat easily. They come in a roll so have a natural inclination to "roll up" but one day of lying flat and that went away. (2) Tools do not move at all, but there is no stickiness to it. Picking up a tool does not make any sort of sound or grab of sticking. (3) Any dust blows right away. I was concerned that saw dust might stick but it does not. (4) Very tear resistant Note: I had two rolls. One roll had "dots" in the fabric that were perfectly square with the edge, but the other roll was off by 1/4 inch. It didn't affect me because I used a large square for all my cutting. However, for someone who might be free-hand cutting and following the lines on the fabric this could be frustrating. So check before you cut! I'm still giving 5 stars because it worked great for me!

This is a very good heavy-duty shelf/drawer liner and is almost exactly what I was looking for. I was expecting something slightly thicker, however according to my calipers it doesn’t quite reach the 3mm thickness that it claims to be on the packaging. Regardless, it does it’s intended job nicely. It’s easy to cut with a sharp utility knife and even pieces cut from the more tightly wound center of the roll lay flat in the toolbox drawer. This 24 ft. roll is exactly enough to completely line a new Craftsman 41” rolling tool chest (16 drawers) if no mistakes are made in cutting. The liner seems to protect and cushion well, is resistant to tearing, and does a fair job of keeping tools from sliding around. I’m impressed enough that I’m buying another roll to line a metal storage cabinet I recently acquired.
