I bought this plan for a projector and after 2 and a half years I had to send it in, they couldn't fix it, so they sent me a gift card for the full cost of the item. Would recommend!

    • Useless duplication of factory warranty period
The product I bought had a 3 year manufacturers warranty and if Asurion's "warranty" starts the day you buy the item, then it's a useless duplication of the factory warranty. Who dreams this stuff up?

    • a bit drawn out , but in the end OK
instead of getting all the info in one shot up front there were multiple interactions over the course of several days one "nibble" at a time. Sometimes i needed to provide info a second time. To their credit, some of this was actually done over the weekend. with good turn around times This was for a TIG welder , not your typical "electronics device. It lasted one month beyond the warranty. In the end they decided not to try and repair and they refunded my purchase price as an Amazon gift card. If you don't frequently use Amazon this could be a bit annoying as there is no easy way to really get your money back. Also keep in mind these policies run concurrently with Mfg warranty. Many Amazon seller are not always clear about warrantys and going to the Mfg website is not always going to give you the right answer. In my case, the Mfg website said 3 years , but when contacted after the unit failed they said "oh, when we sell thru Amazon it's only one year". Probably illegal, but as always Buyer Beware!, carefully check warranty details if it's a spendy item. That being said will definitely keep using Asaurion when it's appropriate. ... show more

    • Not a true 3 year plan
This plan runs concurrent with the manufactures warranty and is not an add-on, so with a 2 year manufactures warranty you only get 1 year additional warranty with the purchase of a 3-year plan. NOT worth the money!

    • Great support, very reasonable price
The policy confirmation code and information related to the automatic registration of the protection plan is sent to the email registered to your amazon account. I unfortunately do not have access to that email address, but their customer support (I spoke with Julia) was swift to help and give me a copy of that email so that I can make use of the protection plan if I ever need to. It is also quite a reasonably priced protection plan, at about 11% of the cost of the insured product for a 3 year plan. At officedepot or walmart you can expect that to be at least 30% most of the time. ... show more

    • Bought the warranty, item doesn’t work, warranty not honored.
A request has been submitted to have a refund issued for a faulty product. Addition has not responded back.
