    • Good inexpensive option
If your kids are in AAU or used to playing street ball, this likely isn’t for you. If your kids are in the burbs and just need an outdoor activity, this is great. I’d recommend this for preteens and older Elementary age kids. It’s too big / tall for most young kids, even at the shortest size. It’s too small for full grown teenagers/adults. It’s not meant for dunking, the metal rim is not sturdy enough. It was easy to put together in about 30 min. The instructions were more clear than most off brands and the wrenchs provided were nicer too. I recommend a ratchet as there are several locknuts. Some of the screws were mislabeled so we thought they were missing but they weren’t. The diagrams made it pretty clear. The adjustable size is just adding one extra pole. It’s not adjustable in the way that others are where you can move the rim up and down easily. If you want to change your configuration, you’ll need to disassemble slightly and reassemble. The wheels are pretty cheap and came loose a lot but it was easy enough to move, even with the base full. This was great as we can scoot it onto the side of the garage when not in use so we can park cars in driveway. It does require flat ground to use / stay put. Overall for an off brand, I was very pleasantly surprised. The quality was better than expected. It came with extra net and the kids were out playing within an hr of unboxing. I'm really happy with this hoop and backboard with stand. It's made with very heavy and solid steel parts built to last. Assembly takes a while and it's easier with a helper but 1 person can do it. Wrenches are included but you'll want your ratchet set handy for faster install, and having a few nylon washers around as "crush washers" is a good idea so that you don't distort the pipes quite as much when tightening. Installation hardware (bolts, washers, nylon lock nuts, etc.) is all very good quality and uses only 2 sizes - 14mm and 13mm, meaning all you need to put it together are those two sizes, ideally with the 14mm on the ratchet and the 13mm in a combo wrench to hold the nut while tightening the bolt. Backboard is clear lexan type plastic acrylic but not all that thick. Fortunately it's got a lot of metal support behind it and the rim attaches to metal behind it so there's no stress from the rim. Adjustable height is good but almost unneeded for this diameter hoop - you'll want to use all 4 vertical members because you can set the height low enough it's the same as if you'd used 3 - and then just raise it as the kids get bigger. For my 5-year-old and his friends up to age 7-8 we found the lowest setting with 4 posts was best. Quality is great and while not full size it does seem pretty good for a size 5 or 6 basketball.     • Flimsy design, poor instructions, not worth the hassle
This basketball hoop is cheap in both build and design. The backboard is thin and feels like a low grade plastic rather than actual plexiglass, and it’s only about half the size of a regulation backboard. The base is just wide enough to keep it upright, but the wheels are a major issue. There are no locking pins, so the pins slip out whenever you try to move it, and the wheels fall off. Assembly was frustrating. The directions were confusing and the parts were mislabeled, which added a lot of time and guesswork because there were so many pieces. I needed a socket wrench just to get everything put together. There are plastic knobs on the pole that serve no real function; they’re just decorative, which seems like a missed opportunity for a better design. Adjusting the height is a chore that requires multiple tools and removing screws. Overall, this hoop is a disappointment. It’s functional but poorly made, hard to assemble, and made of cheap parts. ... show more
