This 10-foot hoop was a huge disappointment. The pole wobbles badly, the backboard feels cheap, and the rim started bending after light use. Assembly was a headache, and even once set up it never feels stable. Definitely not worth the money

We ordered this goal as a replacement for our previous one that had a long bar for height adjustments and I will say this one is much easier, however the mechanism feels somewhat sketchy when near the highest or lowest setting. The image of the backboard is definitely misleading, it is not as large as what is pictured. Having said that, assembly was quick and easy and the goal is a good value for what you pay for it. It's been put up for a while, in sun, rain, hot, cold, and so far is holding up well. It's also pretty stable even without water/sand in the base. The reason for this is because of its design, where the pole rises at an angle from the back of the base, thus putting weight on the base. Other designs that have the base to the rear of the pole are unstable without weight in the base. The advantage of not having weight in the base is that it can be more easily moved. It was relatively easy to put together, though pay attention to the instructions, because I had to redo an error. The height is easily adjusted. Took a while to put it together, but was definitely worth the effort! Very stable, sturdy and the telescoping feature is wonderful for little kids to gain confidence and shooting skills as they grow. Our grandsons are 4 and 6 and they both were making baskets at the lowest level. The slant base ball-return-platform under the rim bounces the ball back to them so they take more shots instead of running all over the place to retrieve their basketballs. It looks great and will provide years if outdoor fun snd basketball skill building. They played for over two hours as soon as it went up! Both of my kids decided to join basketball, so we wanted to get them something to practice on since we aren't typically "sports" people. I wanted something that was adjustable and came across this one. First off, it's really easy to put together. My 9 year old and I did it in just about an hour. Secondly, it had a crank to change the height so we can lower it for my 6 year old and bring it back up my oldest. The base has wheels to move it around, and you can fill the base with water or cement to hold it down. Definitely do this, as we found a strong wind will blow it over if not. Luckily it's really well made and durable and we were able to stand it back up again. A neat design feature is that you can leave out one of the main poles if you don't plan to have it up at adult height, making it easier to deal with if you just have littles playing. I'm hoping they stick with basketball, hopefully this hoop will help them stay with it! ... show more
