    • Looks nice at first glance, but the build quality is subpar.
The lamp looks nice in screenshots and decent in person but only if one doesn't look too closely. The decorative panels are made of plastic that feels and looks cheap, and the rest is cheap-feeling particleboard. The parts were not created with much precision so much of it doesn't sit very flush. The bottom lamp is a real pain to have to change since it involves tipping the entire thing onto the floor to access the hole in the bottom. Overall it doesn't feel like much care went into its design and engineering. I cannot say this was really worth $99 and the amount of effort that went into putting it together. I think my money could have been better spent on a couple of nicer-quality IKEA lamps or a combination of furniture and lamps hacked together. ... show more

Really cool designs on the lamp shade. Like that it is double shaded; that's a cool feature. Not super sturdy, but not too flimsy either. Easy to assemble but know that instructions guide you to do it upside down and then flip it.

    • Pretty lamp, but WAY too expensive
This is a $40 lamp, at the very most. At $80, I was expecting a little bit more sturdiness and visual appeal. I realize $80 is still not super expensive, but once you get past fifty in my book you should probably have graduated from recycling the beaverboard from water damaged children's furniture. The thing goes together easily enough, but the particle board is so thin and chintzy, it's super easy to overtorque certain parts just using your hand. Sometimes you have no choice due to the threads not matching 100%, unless you want those square pegs to be cattywampus. I didn't, so I've just resolved to never breathe too heavily near the thing, let alone actually use the shelf. It is nice where it sits, as an accent in the dining nook. Two 60w-equivalent LEDs are perfect to really permeate the shades and make them glow enough to be usable as a light. I bet 40w would look lovely if you didn't need anything to see by and just wanted something soft to offset a dark corner. But, while the effect is pretty, if you look at it longer than a minute it's really obvious how garbage the materials are. It really just looks like a brown plastic tower, at the end of the day, since the veneer wasn't made to look especially woody. Again, this wouldn't bother me quite so much if it were less than half of what I paid, but at $80 I could have gotten a Brightech shelf lamp (albeit without the pretty shade design) which, based on another lamp of theirs I own in the same price bracket, is probably worlds sturdier and classier-looking. So don't waste your money on this unless you just REALLY have to have that design. ... show more

Really nice! Relatively easy to assemble — the directions threw me off a bit because it has you build and then flip the whole thing upside down, so I messed up the first time, but it was easy to fix. Lightweight. If you’re planning on stacking medium-heavy things on this, it’s better to buy something else. Lightweight plants are fine. You can turn out one light and leave the other on, which is a great feature if you are looking for various levels of low lighting. Very happy with this purchase. ... show more

This lamp is made almost entirely of plastic. Not worth even half of the money I paid. Very unsturdy. Warning stickers not to place anything over 6 (or 7) pounds on the shelves. Doubt it would handle 3 pounds.

    • Missing hardware, seller rude and unhelpful
Still in box months after purchase. No instructions, googled to get those then while assembling find I didn't have the double end threaded screw dowels. Contacted Amazon whome contacted artiva as I wanted to just replace the missing hardware I needed. Artiva refused as it was like new item, said for me to buy em off Amazon. Can't find them though as I don't know what they are. So threw away 100 bucks and artiva simply says spend more. Extremely upset, and disapointed. Don't fall for the like new items, they are not trust me. Plus a scratch on one side, so amazon shouldn't have described as like new and should have replaced any missing hardware before posting it for sale as like new. And since it was still made by artiva and bought from artiva through Amazon I feel like the least they could have done was send the hardware or give me more info to find the hardware. Like size and what the pieces are actually called so I don't have to keep saying metal double end threaded screw dowels. Kept item cause sat 2 weeks before we tried to assemble then husband said he could find missing pieces but walking up and down hardware stores with the 1 dowel piece we have and he couldn't find it while waiting to hear back from artiva. then just like that I got a rude email from em only after I couldn't return it. ... show more
