This chair is beautifully designed, but up close its quality doesn't match its looks. Granted, they were only $80 each, so that's why I gave them 4 stars. A great-looking chair for the money. OK, so these look great new, no question. Nice mid-century style. And for my counter, they won't get heavy use, so are ok for me. I live alone, and they would only be used by the occasional guest, so should hold up for years. But they're not exactly Herman Miller quality. The quality is better than IKEA, but just by a little. If they will see heavy use in your home (especially with kids), you may want to find something a little more high end. They wobble a little, and the seating surfaces are each held on with only 3 bolts. Couple of tips: * Retighten all bolts a little after a few uses, but don't go crazy or you'll crack something. * If the bolts keep getting loose, add some Blue threadlocker to the bolts to keep them in place. * Don't bother installing the round plastic finishing ring on the bottom of the seat pole. It's cheap, and adds nothing. It actually looks better without it. * The vinyl color was a little uneven and the surface dry abd dusty. Even though it's vinyl, a light coat if any leather conditioner will help even out the finish and protect the material. Like I said, it's a great looking stool, but I imagine a truly sturdy and durable version would probably cost at least double, especially in today's economy. ... show more

Wow, what a beautiful, classy swivel chair! I bought it for my home recording studio so I'd have a place to sit when editing longer audio tracks (I'm a voice over guy). Very simple assembly. Sturdy. Adjustable height. I was very surprised at how COMFORTABLE this chair is! My fiance actually pulls it into the living room and prefers to use that over our couch.
