Regarding the 4x6 mat, I am very impressed with this. I considered a couple other similar exercise mats on Amazon and went with this one. Here are some points I want to make about it: 1. It is sized exactly as advertised: 4ft x 6 ft. I also verified with a digital caliper that the mat is exactly 7mm thick. For reference, 7mm is a tad over a quarter of an inch and is exactly as thick as a stack of four quarters. Regarding any reviews that say the mat is a different size, I am sure it was just a mix up. 2. It is made of little bits of rubber that have been compressed flat. Going off of some answers to questions posted by other customers, the mat is made by cutting slices off a bigger chunk of rubber. Though I myself can't confirm this is how they are made, the surface is very smooth on both sides as if they had been sliced with a very sharp blade. There are small pits in the surface due to the spacing of the small bits of rubber but the surface is not bumpy. You can hold poses on your elbows or knees and the mat won't leave indentations in your skin. 3. The mat does not shift around while using it on carpet. I previously used foam interlocking squares that shifted about while exercising but this mat stays put, which I am happy about. I also noticed that this does not leave marks on my carpet, which is also good. 4. It isn't that spongy but it does give a little bit. Trying to think of a good comparison to describe how squishy it is. It's about as firm as the rubber sole of an athletic shoe, maybe a tad firmer depending on the shoe. Definitely more firm than a regular foam yoga mat. You can probably drop weights on this no problem but I haven't done this. It is pretty firm so that it doesn't wrinkle but it does flex too. I use it on my carpet and can feel the padding underneath, which makes it more comfortable to lie down on than if it were on a rigid floor. 5. I use this upstairs. It doesn't completely absorb the sound, so if you live above someone in an apartment and are jumping around on this mat your neighbors will probably still hear you. Realistically though, you would probably need several layers of rubber and foam to be completely silent. 6. The rubber is very tough. I exercise on this mat with my shoes on without any issue. It's not slippery nor is it sticky. 7. It has small pits from the spacing between the bits of compressed rubber as mentioned above. I imagine this might hold moisture. I haven't had this mat long enough to experience any issue with this though. I imagine using an all purpose cleaner regularly would keep it clean. 8. Has a slight rubbery smell that is somewhat noticeable after unpacking. On the second or third day, the smell went away. 9. Top and bottom surface are the same. One side has a sticker indicating it is the bottom. An answer to a question in the questions section mention the mats are sliced off a bigger piece of rubber and the "bottom" might have a different sheen than the "top". For all intents and purposes though, they are the same surface. 10. Unrolls and lies flat. Doesn't have any memory that causes it to curl up. 11. Only comes with the mat. No carry bag or velcro straps. That's ok for me though. Thought I'd mention that if was super important to someone. 12. Weighs maybe 25 lbs, so it isn't super light but it isn't exactly heavy either. ... show more

So we bought these for my class C RV. There are 2 leather covered sides that lead up to the over cab storage area and we have a cat that loves climbing up there and we wanted to protect the leather. Cat claws are like needles and we needed something so dense that his claws wouldn't go through but thin enough to drape over and staple in the wood trim on the other side. Also durable! Sisal rope mats are expensive for even very small ones and end up fraying. These hold up really well. They haven't cracked or torn or have any signs of wear even with out 14lb kitty climbing it everyday. I bought one and cut it in half and used half on each side. They cut clean. I dont know that I would use them as at home yoga mats because they are much denser and harder than my yoga mat. More like gym mats for sure. But they have great traction. No slipping. They are a bit heavy but when i unrolled it it initially it flattened out well. Also thin enough for areas where you would need a non slip mat without being a trip hazard. As for easy to clean-they can be wiped with a damp cloth but I wouldnt say "easy to clean" because they are porous. And if it had a lot of dirt then possibly would have to take outside and spray with hose. However for my purposes I would recommend! ... show more

I'm using it as a dog water bowl mat. Labs seem to have waterfall out their mouths after they take a drink. This keeps my floors from getting wet n protected from the water. Added plus floors don't get slippery bc they're not wet top! I have a large mat like this for when it's too hot outside in AZ for the dogs to play so they can play inside or if it's raining outside they can still play inside too!! ❤️❤️❤️ ... show more

I bought this to add to the top of a 24"x60" Hip Thrust platform that I built for my smith machine. First thing I noticed when I opened it was that it has almost zero smell. That's fantastic! Off gassing from rubber mats can be really hard to deal with in a home gym. After I opened it I could tell that the texture is very nice and non-slip. It feels really durable, yet it wasn't too hard to cut down to the size I needed for the platform. High marks all around. ... show more

Just what I was hoping for when I ordered this product. Thickness is within expected tolerances, 7mm. The consistency of the porosity is excellent. Very heavy, not easily compressed, somewhat stiff and when you set something on it, it’s not going to slide around. I built a butcher block workbench and I’m using this to cover all but 6” on each end. The all black is an excellent backdrop color to do light woodworking and leather work. The corners of this are not going to turn up over time. Cuts with a sharp utility knife nicely. I only needed 25” x 52” of it, so I have a large piece leftover for another project. Might use it on a couple shelves. It’s a very nice looking product. I never know when a piece of this will be just what I need. ... show more

    • Buy this for your Peloton, not those PVC mats!

Rubber is the flooring of choice in commercial gyms for a reason. It reduces noise, vibration and wear on flooring, while also not compressing easily under heavy equipment. PVC is not intended for use under heavy equipment, smells awful and wears quickly under pressure points like the feet of your spin bike. No idea why everyone buys those overpriced pvc mats for their spin bikes. I bought this for use under a peloton and not only does it perfectly flat, even at the corners, right out of the packaging, but it renders the bike virtually silent. I live in an old building with hardwood floors and cranky downstairs neighbors. If they could hear it, I would know. The 4ft length should work under the majority of spin bikes, but you’ll want a six footer for a treadmill. Oh, it also vacuums and cleans easily with a standard Clorox wipe. ... show more
