A small fit my 3lb pomchi mix and could also be a little more snug but the xs is a narrower collar so I went with small. Fits great and has held up well. D-ring stays in place and holds leash well and the buckle closure is easy and doesn’t come apart like some can. Even though this is a small, inexpensive, unimportant purchase (a simple dog collar), I appreciated the extra touches put into the overall purchase experience by the Seller. The collar is sturdy, well made, and has beautiful color. However, it was the small "Thank You" card enclosed with the collar that charmed me most. It wasn't a flimsy slip of paper, but a nice note on card stock. It took time and extra expense to create and enclose that card, and for that gesture I was most delighted. But it is too wide for my 9 lb dog. It is very cute though with pink flamingos on it. She likes it and doesn’t complain, but I feel bad that it is so thick and the clips are cumbersome for such a little dog.The outside is a soft cotton, well sewn. It would be perfect for a larger dog.
