  • Training tool that works!
Color: Tom Davis 280C
This product has help define the dog my puppy has grown into. My puppy wasn't terrible at listening, but often was more distracted at what was going on around us when we were outside. It helped grab his attention and keep him focused on my instructions. I live where there are wild animals, cars, snakes and plenty of other things that could potentially hurt a curious pup. This has helped keep him from harm, that my voice alone would not have many times over. It may be a bit pricey but the durability and the quality speak for itself. As long as you keep an eye on the battery and use it as its intended it works great. I did buy some other collars to attach this to, to get the fit just right. I am very thankful for this product and my dog truly loves to wear it. Most of the time now I can just use a command without even using the collars features because he has it ingrained into him now. I never have to turn it up much and usually a quick buzz does the job. ... show more

  • Would have lost my mind without it!
Color: Tom Davis 280C
Awesome collar! Used this with my very stubborn heeler pup. I mainly wanted this for recall. It was hit or miss whether she would come when called (mostly miss), especially when she was distracted. It does take some time to get your dog used to it, but once you get the hang of it its very easy to use. My pup is 5 months now but we are off leash in the yard and woods. This is also great for corrections when you can’t get to the dog fast enough. I use the collar at a level 3 which I can’t even feel. Boost at 13 which I can feel but isn’t painful. I use boost for when she tries to herd my daughter, and worked great for training her not to eat the chickens. The vibrate really does nothing for her except cause her to itch her neck. I’ve not tested the range, it’s plenty for my purposes and we’ve not even got close to needing the full range. We have tested the water proofing many times and never had any issues there. I guess the only negative is that she chewed the bungee cords off where she could reach them immediately, luckily there was enough left to still use. Overall this was definitely worth the money. I would’ve lost my mind without it! My dog now helps me with the chicken chores and comes with me to check trail cams, no leash needed and it’s great. She’s actually excited when I get it out because she knows it’s off leash time! ... show more

  • A Transformational Tool
Color: Tom Davis 280C
After a disappointing experience with a budget e-collar that left my dog more stressed than trained, I was hesitant to invest in another. The leap of faith was worth it. This high-quality e-collar has been a game-changer in our training routine. Its ability to adjust to very low stimulus levels means my dog responds without any stress or fear, a critical factor in effective training. The lock button is a feature I didn’t know I needed, but now can’t live without. It eliminates the worry of accidentally increasing the intensity, allowing me to focus fully on the training session. However, the standout feature has to be the boost button. It's brilliantly designed for moments of higher distraction, gently reminding my dog to focus without overcorrection. In just one week, the change in our walks is night and day. No more tears of frustration for me; we're enjoying our time together, and my dog's responsiveness, even to the first call back indoors, has improved dramatically. It's not just an e-collar; it's a bridge to better communication with my dog. Absolutely a 10/10 purchase. ... show more

  • Great tool, hard to remember to turn off when done
Color: Tom Davis 280C
Functionality-wise, it's great. Seems to have a great range, and is easy to use. I love that it has both vibrate and shock. I've trained my dog to treat getting a vibrate to be the same as a "come". Fantastic at the beach where we want to let him run around but voices and whistles get drowned out by wave sounds. My biggest gripe is that it seems like it's always out of battery. The battery lasts long enough for any one outing, but there's no motion sensor in it that turns itself off when it's not in use. I always forget to manually turn it off, so the result is always me finding that when I'd like to use it, I need to plug it in and wait for it to charge. If it could turn itself off when inactive or still for some period of time, it'd be perfect. ... show more

  • Best tool for training everything!
Color: Tom Davis 280C
Love this! I have an. 2 year old lab and ordered this almost a year ago to train him but made the mistake of not using it consistently and only on recall while using various other tools like prong collars and tons of treats to train him on everything else. A month ago I took him to a dog behavioral therapist who told me to only use the e-collar for everything. The results have been amazing!! From obedience in the house to walking and recall. I can even take my dog off leash now and have no doubt he will come back when I command. It doesn’t hurt him when training and the highest level out of 136 I’ve used is 20 when there were a ton of distractions and was the nick while we were practicing loose leash walking. No shock but the vibration button works great for obedience and teaches quickly what is acceptable and what is not. Money well spent!! I will be buying another when this break ... show more

  • Quality ecollar
Color: Tom Davis 280C
Once properly introduced to my dog, I was able to layer the ecollar onto commands my German Shepherd already knew. He is a pretty anxious dog; however his anxiety was significantly reduced by the clear communication this device provides, as well as the off leash privileges he now enjoys. He actually perfers the stim to the vibration option. He finds the vibration scary. (The stim is like the stim device the chiropractor uses on tight muscles. The vibration is similar to an Apple watch tapping your wrist.) If you don't have a professional dog trainer you trust to introduce the device to your dog, please read Larry Korhn's "Everything you need to know about E Collar Training" and check out his ecollar introduction videos on youtube. Leerburg also has a ton of video courses on the topic. ... show more

  • Very Dangerous, DO NOT PURCHASE Very Dangerous, DO NOT PURCHASE
Color: Tom Davis 280C
I purchased the 1st model of this device back in July 2023. Love the unit and never had an issue until recently and I've had to send it to Dogtra twice to have repairs done. The 1st time the collar wouldn't turn on. This last time the remote would be fully charged and I would press the "nick" button and the battery would drop to 1 bar and the light would rapidly flash red. Press the "nick" button a 2nd time and the remote would be dead. Not sure why it worked great for a yr then the last month I've had 2 issues. I purchased the newer model with the Boost N Lock to have as a backup because we use the e-collar daily. I purchased this one on July 15th, delivered on the 26th and it was dead so I charged it and used it for the 1st time on July 29th. Used it for an hr and it left a bad spot on my dogs neck. Amazon and Dogtra should be ashamed this device is being sold and can do irreparable harm to a dog. I called Dogtra but their customer service line was closed for the day, but u can guarantee im calling as soon as it's open tomorrow. Nobody buy this device and subject their loved one to this type of harm. I feel terrible a decision I made did this to my sweet boy. It seems Tom Davis cares more about what money he is making from Dogtra than to make sure a product he attaches his name and brand to is safe. The 1st model is a fantastic unit minus the last month due to the issues I've mentioned. I'll be at Bass Pro Shop as soon as the doors open and purchasing a Garmin e-collar. ... show more

  • Truly a lifesaver but learn how to use it properly before you put it in your dog.
Color: Tom Davis 280C
We got a 4 year old rescue that turned out to be extremely reactive and aggressive to dogs and people. I was an adamant proponent of only positive reinforcement. We have had several sessions with an excellent trainer and have seen much improvement, but… Three months in our pup pulled my husband down, he lost the leash, and the dog went after a jogger in the park. Fortunately the jogger was able to stop the dog without injury to either of them but it was terrifying to think about what could have happened. We had been watching Tom Davis videos, at our trainers suggestion, so I gave in on the idea of an ecollar. I soon saw, after trying it on myself, that it feels like the tens machine I use for muscle pain (it does get pretty uncomfortable at higher levels). The level that works most times for our dog is one I do not even feel. Our trainer told us how to get started and calibrated the device for our dog. We opted for this model even thought it is larger/heavier than the mini because it had some additional features. We have used the boost function a couple of times and it was very helpful when our little guy was so agitated that he did not feel the regular sensation. The bottom line…after a couple weeks of use we passed numerous people and dogs on our walk today and he did not go full Cujo once! He ignored, or looked with some interest at passersby but responded well to my leash and verbal commands. When a dog started barking at him, he ignored my command but a single level 5 nic brought his attention back to me. We still have work to do, and I can not say enough about the importance of a good trainer to help you, but this can be an invaluable tool, even if you do not plan to have your dog off leash. I noticed that there are a number of returns noted for this item and I suspect it may be due to folks not taking the time to get the dog used to the collar and learning the proper use before expecting it to work. In any event, I heartily recommend training and using the tolls you need. For us, this was it! ... show more
